Short Summary

The team at Little Spark Films has been terrifying the North Texas area since 2013 with their prolific catalog of horror stories. Ran by founders Catalina Querida & Joe Manco, the two have been on a consistent path of finishing every movie they start.

Their latest short, The Torturer, garnered multiple awards at film festivals worldwide including Top Artistic Achievement/Best SFX/VFX/Most Disturbing/Short Film Performance/Short Film Screenplay at The Horror Movie Awards, Best Horror 2021 at Only The Best International Film Awards, Best Horror/Best Actor- Paul T. Taylor at Reel Social Film Awards.

View a myriad of their shorts and Gringo Fantastico’s Disasterpiece Theatre, which Joe Manco directed, on Troma Now, the streaming platform from Troma Entertainment, the longest-running independent film studio in North America. 

LSF gets it done. 

Death World began as a fake trailer for the Texas Frightmare Weekend Fake Trailer Showcase 2022. Shortly after, the team agreed it best to turn it into a feature-length film. 

The original idea behind Death World the fake trailer was “What do we have that we can use?”. Now, we’re wanting to expand the world's mythology and the character’s story arcs. 

That’s where YOU come in!

Your contributions go to all the moving parts that go into making a film, from SFX to camera/lighting to cast and crew. 

Death World focuses on practical effects. We’re going to need a lot of blood!

Camera & lighting is crucial to Death World as it takes place post-electricity. We want to see the carnage!

To be scored by Paragraph Taylor of ManifestiV, Secret of Boris, & Lame. World touring industrial musician with over 20 years of experience in writing, composing, & recording.

Filling out the cast with cult actors who have experience and love the genre is a must for Death World. They’ll bring their expertise and passion to set. 

Crew, we love our crew and want to be able to pay them for their work. 

There are also expenses such as food (a fed team is a happy team,) lodging, transportation, and set medic. 

This is not an exhaustive list, but just a few pieces that fit in the filmmaking puzzle.

No matter what sparks your interest we also have the campaign set up so that you may apply add-on's to your donation.

What happens if we don’t reach the goal? : Adjustments, ranging from SFX to casting decisions. We are pretty tenacious and will put ourselves through hell to finish this project in its totality.

The impact: 

Little Spark Films prides themselves on always reaching the finish line and continues to promote and find homes for even their smallest projects. 

Death World was written as a fun, fast-tracked script, so it will be complete in late 2023/early 2024. 

Risks & Challenges

Filmmaking always carries risks and challenges because there are so many moving parts. Little Spark Films embraces the chaos and quick decision-making that’s needed in filmmaking by working closely with their team and keeping the lines of communication open with the overall goal of finishing the project.
