Hi! My name is Jo Pires, and I am glad to present to you a project that will kickstart two organizations: L†C and PTSE.
L†C
Love The Christ (L†C) is a small creative group that seeks to use the arts as a means to support Christian ministries. This collection is our second work, but the first that is being promoted! (Check our first collection - which will be available later this year.) We operate from a living room and are not yet an official organisation, so by engaging in this campaign you are helping us move out of childhood! Find out more about L†C at here.
PTSE
Psalm Ten Seventeen and Eighteen (PTSE) is a non-profit organization that is taking steps towards raising an awareness of the reality of human-trafficking and its dangers. They seek to protect, rescue, and redeem victims of human-trafficking. Visit ptse.us to find out more about what they do, and even how you can get involved.
The Campaign
It is a pleasure for L†C to launch it's first crowd-funding campaign, specially when PTSE is also benefiting! L†C and PTSE are babies, having been in operation for only over 6 months. At the origin of these projects are two sisters, one a founder of PTSE and the other of L†C. The purpose of this campaign is to promote and fuel both projects for a good start.
60% of the money raised will go to PTSE, while the remaining will be kept by L†C. Though the goal set for the campaign is of $500, our dream is that any amount of money at all is raised! We will be happy with $10, and with $100,000. For example, L†C's next milestone is to open a basic online store, $14 would suffice to cover 2 months worth of fees! The same amount of money would let PTSE raise awareness at a neighbourhood. $100,000 would let L†C set up a recording studio for audio and video. The same amount of money would buy PTSE a rehabilitation house for rescued victims of human trafficking.
Your contribution, small or big, makes a huge impact! Thank you!
2XL Collection
This collection was developed using donated clothing, limited resources, and some creativity. How many handbags can we make from a pair of trousers? Well the answer came to 3! Can these old t-shirts be used for anything more than cleaning rags? The answer is yes!
Clothing sizes vary from XL to 3XL. Check the catalogue to find out more about each item.

FAQ:
Will you ship perks to anywhere in the world? Yes! We will ship anywhere, so long as it is on the earth, i.e.: no shipments to the ISS, the Moon, Mars, etc.
Can I donate even though my card is not in dollars? We believe so, so long as your card provider accepts to pay in dollars. As a rule of thumb, if you use a Visa, Mastercard, or any other main card provider, you are good to go! Donate from anywhere in the world. You will donate in dollars, and your card will be charged in the converted amount to your currency.
Where will the money go?
As explained above, 60% will go to PTSE, while the rest is kept by L†C. So basically, if we reach our goal, PTSE will raise $300, while L†C will keep $180. Regardless if we fall short, reach, or exceed our goal, PTSE will always receive 60% of the money donated, while we (L†C) will cover the fees and take the remaining.
What does this means for PTSE? $300 would be enough to cover the expenses of a tour. Part of PTSE's work is to speak at churches, schools, and other public places. This money would help them cover several dates for the year of 2014.
What does this means for L†C? $180 would let us run a basic online store for a year! L†C's funding depends on the sale of our products, so the store is a very important next step for us. From that money there would still be $12 left to invest on materials. This seems very little, but seeing that most of the materials used by us are donated, and if we can get the online store running, the profit from sales will automatically cover expenses.
Why does this matter?
L†C's concern, as explained on our website, is to facilitate an environment where young artists can come to learn, grow, experiment and gain experience in their creative traits, and a platform were they can display their portfolio. It is also our concern to use this art as a mean to communicate the Gospel, this becomes double-fold when we use the profits of our creations to support Christian ministries, such as PTSE.
Why is L†C important? Young artists are somewhat neglected and shoved aside. We believe no one can become fluent and grow in their skills unless they are allowed to exercise them and see purpose to their creations. This is the core of L†C, letting the artist create at our expense, while letting them see the fruits of their creations and the impact they cause on society.
Why is PTSE important? Human Trafficking is the second largest criminal enterprise in the world, surpassed only by Drug Trafficking. We see faces of missing young girls and children every day posted at the entry of supermarkets, we know of people who have been promised a job abroad only to find out on arrival that they had been lied to. PTSE seeks to bring awareness of these realities, educate people about how to identify such situations, report them and avoid falling into them, but most importantly they seek to rescue victims and council those whom stand in the role of the demander.
At the heart of both projects is the Gospel. We believe that only Christ can cause a real change in the lives of the struggling artist, the trafficked victim, the trafficker, and all of us who are touched by His work.
