My name is Gobi M. Rahimi and I had the honor of directing and producing Tupac Shakur's music videos during his time at Death Row Records.
A few weeks before Pac was shot, I wrote the letter that Tupac signed, firing Suge Knight and Tupac's lawyer, David Kenner. After that, the tension between Tupac and his label soared to new heights.
I was waiting for Tupac at club 662 in Las Vegas after the Mike Tyson fight on September 7, 1996. Soon after, I was informed by rapper Nate Dogg that Tupac and Suge Knight had been shot and taken to University Hospital. I immediately rushed there to be by Tupac’s side. This was the first of an emotional 7 days that I sat guard over Tupac who was in an induced coma, riding the line between life and death. 7Dayz is the story of my experience at the hospital amidst death threats, undercover FBI informants and an uncooperative Police Department.

I was inspired to tell this story because I believe that 'history is written by great people's contemporaries'. I was witness to Tupac's final days and I owe it to him and to the world to tell this story. Tupac taught me three fundamental truths. He proved day in and day out what it really means to be True to yourself and your calling. Pac showed me what its like to live life without any Limits. His Loyalty to his family, friends and co-workers taught me the true meaning of that word. Over the last twenty years it was these principles that kept me from selling my footage to the highest bidder and finding an honest way to bring his legacy to life. Just to be clear, this is a narrative feature film, not a documentary.
Tupac's final week reflects all of the racism and inequality that Baltimore and the likes of Trayvon Martin have been victims to. The powers that be don’t want us to make this film.

Writer, DIrector, Producer - Gobi M. Rahimi - I had the honor of directing "2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted" and "Made Niggaz". He also produced "All About You", "Hit Em UP", "How Do You Want It" (both the original and remix videos) and "I Ain't Made At Cha". I've produced and directed hundreds of successful music videos, commercials, narrative and documentary projects since Pac's passing. I also produced and directed the posthumous music video, Pac's Life, featuringT.I. and Ashanti. I've worked with Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, DMX, U2, Wycelf Jean, Missy Elliot, Brandy, Jadakiss, the Bob Marley estate, Fabolous, Yoko Ono, Snoop Dogg , Nine Inch Nails, Seth Green, and last but not least Tupac's Outlawz. I've also worked with some of the worlds largest brands including Shell, Butterfinger , Microsoft and a campaign for Nestle that yielded over a Billion media impressions.
Producer - Preston L. Holmes has not only produced films starring Tupac (
Juice, Gridlock'd, TUPAC: Resurrection), but also has produced epic movies such as
Malcolm X, New Jack City and
Hustle and Flow.
What drew me to Preston was the fact that we both had a personal relationship with Tupac. I know that preserving Pac's legacy is just as important to Preston as it is to me.![]()
Record Label - We're in negotiations with the largest independent label in the world, Tech N9ne's Strange Music, and producing an all star UNITY ALBUM with them. We will be collaborating with artists that inspired or were inspired by Tupac.
I’m calling on all of you loyal fans to support this project in order to prevent it from becoming another watered down Hollywood film. Our fan supported approach will give you the opportunity to see this story in its most uncensored and truthful manner, the way Tupac would have wanted it.
