Story of My Book
My name is Jessica McCarter and I am the author of 75 Days of Jo. I wrote this book because I wanted to tell a story like the ones I used to love reading as a teen (and if I’m being honest with myself, I STILL love these types of stories.)
My hope is that, in reading this book, you’ll get to escape from the stresses of everyday life, which is something I’ve always loved about reading - getting lost in a story. I also hope that you’ll be able to relate to the characters of this book and what they go through, even if you aren’t currently a freshman in college (the time in Jo’s life in which this book takes place).
75 Days of Jo is a fictional young adult novel that follows the life of Jo throughout her first semester of college. Jo, a kind yet insecure 18-year-old, is left feeling anxious and distraught when her parents wave their final goodbyes after moving her into college. The reality of being in a new place, knowing no one, without her family nearby, weighs heavily on Jo. Lucky for her, she meets Ginger, a quick-witted, fiercely loyal, and brutally honest girl that lives in the room next door. Jo and Ginger become fast friends and together they navigate the highs and lows of being new college students - dealing with crazy roommates, going to parties, and meeting boys. Emphasis on meeting boys.
You will love this book if you like to read light, yet entertaining, teen romance novels while:
- Sitting on the beach on a warm summer day
- Cozying up in a nook at Starbucks on a rainy Tuesday
- Laying in bed until noon on your day off from school/work
75 Days of Jo speaks to anyone who has gone through a time in their life feeling insecure and lonely but has come out on the other side stronger and more confident. This book also speaks to anyone who loves getting butterflies when they meet someone special.

About the Author
Jessica, a Pennsylvania State University graduate with a degree in Supply Chain, has always loved reading, writing, and being creative. Outside of her career in e-commerce, she finds ways to express herself through blogging, podcasting, and most recently writing a book! One of Jessica’s biggest accomplishments was co-founding an organization that raised money in the fight against pediatric cancer. Through this experience, Jessica learned the importance of being part of a community that encourages everyone to be themselves and share their stories.
75 Days of Jo pays homage to that exact sentiment - anything is possible if you surround yourself with the right people and the right community.

Risks & Challenges
The biggest challenge with publishing a book is delivering the finished book to the backer, specifically my mailing of the book to you. I have eliminated this risk by building into the campaign the mailing and shipping costs of your signed copies to you within each pre-order tier.
The risk of delivering the pre-sale copies of my book is contingent on the publisher we use. I will be working closely with New Degree Press to make sure we get the earliest possible ship date of the signed book copy to you. We will keep all pre-sale backers up-to-date as my book hits each key milestone and publishes. You will know when the copies of my book you pre-ordered are expected to ship.
