“The
Resurrection of The Exquisite Corpse” will be a collaborative world-wide exhibit challenging imagination and creativity
and allowing artists, writers, etc… to
work together regardless of language barriers, distance, gender, religious
beliefs, cultural differences, etc.. I will also have the public engaged in
participating in some creative collaborations at the opening reception.
There
will be several prominent poets from New York City coming who will read from
their writing collaborations live at the opening reception and engaging with the audience allowing them to also participate. There will be musical collaborations (One musician(s) will compose a set, allowing the
next to only hear the last few notes to then complete the composition and
they can perform their completed collaboration live at the opening) Ms. Ana Barragan King, dancer and founder of The Latin Ballet of Virginia will also perform...The dancers, where one group will choreograph the first half of their set, leaving
only the last steps for next group to see in order to choreograph and complete
the process and also perform live at the opening.
At
the opening I will have supplies available for the public to participate. The
public will be invited to read their writing collaborations if they would like.
This project is very stimulating for the imagination and is a wonderful
creative challenge. It allows for many who may think they are not creative to
find that they actually are! It also engages everyone to work together and find
that we may be very similar in thought and creative visions. This is a
wonderful project for children as well, as it encourages harmony and in a
natural process, allows for the human race to work together and enjoy and learn
from each other’s styles, cultures and visions.
I believe that this project is also an
excellent tool in helping to eliminate stereotypical expectations of others
that may have hindered the possibility of understanding each other otherwise.
