Our film, A Thousand Years, is a USC graduate student short film partially funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
About the Sloan Grant:
The goal of the Alfred P Sloan Foundation Film School program is to influence and encourage the next generation of filmmakers to create more realistic and dramatic stories about science and technology, and to challenge existing stereotypes about scientists and engineers through visual media storytelling. Two production grants are offered each year at USC's School of Cinematic Arts.

Our total budget is $50,000.00.
A Thousand Years was awarded one of two production grants from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Although we are partially funded by the grant, creating a historically accurate period piece is ambitious and expensive. The majority of our budget will go toward locations, production design, costumes, and feeding our top-notch crew for 10 days of filming.

A Note from the Director: In a world where innovation is being overridden by corporations, this true underdog story (that's never been told!) is more relevant than it ever has been. Having this powerful piece of history dramatized and help inspire the next generation of pioneers by showing them that normal folks, with human flaws, doubts, tempers and very little resources, can change the world with just a bit of belief and dedication.
