My name is Jonas Lee. I'm an Indie author who has already published a recent novel, A Time to Reap. This campaign is an effort to get its sequel out by the time the first book starts receiving traction. As a new author, I am basically invisible until I can get my foot in the door.
Satisfying Our Needs
This is an effort to get publishing costs covered and marketing funds underway. So, yes, I need your money, BUT I will give you things in return. I'm not just a charity case. I'm looking to reach at least $2500 dollars. This will cover the following:
- Editing
- Formatting
- Cover Art
- Branding
- Fundraising Costs
And with your donation, I will give you the option of various perks for helping me out. It can go to something as simple as a public thank you to signed copies of books. I can show up for a book club or have the option of becoming a name WITHIN the new book!!
Now, it's possible that not everyone will be able to donate what they wish they could. I get it, we don't all have money to dish out at any given time. So, in the unlikely case I don't meet the full goal, I will still be using what is raised for the essential things first. Cover art is a must. If any of you liked the first cover, I want to carry that awesomeness over. Then the technical side to make the mistakes of my existence pretty much disappear.
The plus side... If I raise more than what the base goal is, the branding cost will go straight into marketing and I will get something for everyone. Not ruining the surprise yet. Don't want to jinx it.
Antsy Pants
This project is crucial for getting the sequel up and running. Not to say it won't happen in time, but who wants to wait for an additional 4-8 months to find out what Carter & Mo are up to??
As an Indie author, I love creating the story I want to tell and giving it to an audience. I have no publishing house, unfortunately, so I must do all of these things out of my own pocket. Sales from the first book will get there, but not for another four months or so.
Writing is my dream, I'm living it and breathing it in daily. My waking world is still a full-time job, a family and a daughter who loves to be involved in sports. So many friends and family have already helped me live this dream in so many ways, I just don't want to wake up from it yet. Help me hit the Snooze button a little longer, would you?
The Junk Punch
This is a section (title renamed of course) Indie Go-Go adds to keep a transparency on what might come up. Truly, nothing will stop this from becoming a reality. Granted, if I can't raise enough funds, it will be slower.
Beyond that, the book is done. I just finished it a couple days ago. No wondering when I'll get around to it. Literally, from fundraising I'll be setting up appointments to get things rolling.
Other Athithtance
Perhaps banking on a future project isn't your style. Or you think because you're here, you have to spend money. I'd love your money, granted, I'm sure it's burning a hole in your pocket. I have a fire extinguisher AND taken safety courses. I can handle it.
