We're creating a Worship Album that's a reflection of what God's doing in our local community here in Portland, OR.
We’re Bread & Wine Northwest, a worship collective formed in 2023, made up of friends, artists, and musicians.
Our mission is to raise up wholehearted followers of Jesus through artistic discipleship and communal creative endeavors.
We are centered around the Creator, the person of Jesus Christ, in whom we find the fullness of our identity and purpose. Everything that we create flows out of a place of knowing God and belonging to Him as sons & daughters. From this place of deeply rooted discipleship, we inspire and call people up, to walk in their imago dei identity as artists and creatives, cultivating a culture of communal creativity.
We began meeting in spring of 2023 to share songs we’ve been working on with one another, which lead to us putting together a worship night in July, where we sang ten original songs by ten different artists all recently written. The goal was to create a place that we could be vulnerable with our art, a place for us to be artists together.
In the video above you can see and hear some snapshots of the songs from that night. We feel prompted by what we believe is the Spirit of God to pursue finishing recording these songs, for these reasons:

- We want to honor what God did in us and our community so it will be remembered.

- We want to share that art with our friends and family, our local community, and the world.

- We want to inspire more art within our immediate artistic community and local creative community.
Our goal is to record beautiful music and visual content to memorialize these special moments and offer them near and far.
The Team
This project is lead by Brett & Katie Leyde, produced by Sam Alvarez, recorded by Michael Crandall, Cody Kilpatrick, post produced by dear friend Jesse Wilson. We have longstanding relationship with all of these people and they have outstanding reputations in their fields.
The album would not happen without our amazing artist community and many friends who are contributing in countless ways.
Production and Release Plan
We are recording in late October and plan on releasing the first song in early 2024, the full length release later in the year (Estimated summer 2024). As a contributor you will receive the album when its completed and not having to wait until its out in the wild.
Our budget for audio production is $10,500 for ten songs (Producing, recording, mixing, and mastering), visual art and video production is budgeted at $4,000, for a total budget of $14,500.
If for some reason we're unable to meet our goal we will determine how to scale back the number of songs we produce (and the accompanying visual content if necessary).
