About AbiliTrek
Our team is working on developing a Yelp-like review platform that provides accessibility reviews of public places allowing for people with disabilities to better know where they can or cannot go. We are setting out on this mission because:
- We believe in equal accessibility for all humans, no matter their physical ability
- We believe that if more people with disabilities knew about accessible places to go, they would explore more and experience new things
- We have confidence that the community surrounding those with disabilities will adopt our service and help make our tool valuable for those with accessibility needs (they'll submit reviews so that others will know which locations are accessible).
- Because we can!

Daman Wandke, our CEO and Founder, has Cerebral Palsy and travels frequently for both business and pleasure. He knows how difficult it is for people with disabilities to find accessible places and that is why Daman created AbiliTrek.
Accessibility information is extremely limited and oftentimes inaccurate. When someone with a disability wants to go out to eat, visit a coffee shop, or enjoy a drink at a bar, it's difficult for them to know which establishments can serve them. We are campaigning to support the development of AbiliTrek so that we can provide a vast amount of accessibility information to people with disabilities. With your help, navigating the world can become much easier for the nearly 50 million American's with disabilities by using the AbiliTrek website, and eventually the AbiliTrek Android and iOS apps.
Campaign Breakdown
It takes plenty of time and really talented people to make a great working product, so with your support we'll be able to achieve the following milestones:
Development of current product, AbiliTrek.com - $10,000. In our early stages, our website application will allow our users to review how accessible places are and also see other's accessibility reviews on our web platform.
Website Enhancements - $10,000. Reaching the $20,000 milestone in funding will allow us to improve our web platform of AbiliTrek to make it even more useful for our users. This will include features not yet implemented into our initial website and features requested from Beta testers.
Pilot City Launches and Conferences - $15,000. It is crucial for our users to find AbiliTrek useful, and without reviews it may not be. Meeting the $35,000 milestone would allow AbiliTrek to launch in 3 pilot cities; Seattle, WA, Washington D.C., and New York City. Initially serving these cities with high disability populations will allow users to quickly generate large amounts of accessibility reviews, making those cities more accessible using AbiliTrek. Additionally, attending disability related conferences will allow leaders in the disability community to adopt our service so that AbiliTrek can be brought back and used all over the United States.
Development of iOS Application - $30,000. Reaching our FINAL fundraising milestone of $65,000, we can serve our community of iOS users with disabilities. iOS devices are generally more accessible, and that is why we will first develop AbiliTrek for iOS users. We want our iOS users to be able to easily use AbiliTrek on the go, so that they can more easily navigate their everyday lives. With your very generously donated $30,000 we can make that possible.

The Impact
Many people don't know how inaccessible our world is or how many people are dependent on accessible accommodations.
-
There are over 50 million people with disabilities in the United States. The majority of you likely know someone who has a physical disability, whether it's a friend, family member, or coworker.
- It is extremely difficult for people with disabilities to find places they can get into, bathrooms they can use, or even tables they can sit at.
- Your contribution to our campaign directly impacts the lives of those with disabilities. Every dollar donated helps make it possible for AbiliTrek to get into the hands of those with disabilities, making it easier for them to plan their days and live their lives.
Risks & Challenges
Risk - Success in completing our mission requires a large community of people to be involved. Gathering accessibility reviews and information is necessary for the AbiliTrek tool to be useful.
Opportunity - Advertising on multiple platforms in multiple ways will, both internally and outsourced, will yield a high number of involved community members, and therefor a high number of accessibility reviews.
Risk - The accessibility reviews provided by our users bring to light the fact that many places are not accessible.
Opportunity - This is an opportunity to for us to encourage our users to be honest in their reviews in order to bring awareness of accessibility to public businesses and locations.
Strength - Multiple members of our team have first hand knowledge of accessibility and disability. This allows our team to successfully serve our target users because they have experienced the problem we are solving.
