Summary in English
Pericles (Georgios Tzitzikos) is an excellent young computer engineer. Despite his light craziness, he is headhunted by the best companies and research centers worldwide. However, he does not seem to be interested for any one of the lucrative positions, which are offered him. Nobody understands why, except from (obviously) his girlfriend, Zoe (in Greek: "Zoe" = "Life"). When he is finally "blackmailed" to migrate, he keeps trying to stay in Greece, even if it means that he has to "fall" really low.
What kind of blackmail is this? Which role plays the quadruple persona of the "blackmailer", Mr. Adamides, Adamopoulos, Adamou and Adamoglou? What is the hidden story behind Pericles' relationship with Zoe?
Who we are
I am born in 1986, I am a classical philologist and I belong to a whole new generation, which fell on the trap of being raised like kings, no matter if this was in accordance with the financial reality of our background. Our parents tried with money to counterbalance their (way too difficult to provide) parental interest. We tried with university degrees to counterbalance the (way much more difficult to obtain) money.
We inherited a life with no solid foundations at all. This crystal ball has been eventually shattered to pieces and we found ourselves (like them) scattered all over the world. Paying the bill for the sins of our fathers in a golden career-prison.
We have the right to live where we were born. We do not want to live in an exile. And we do not want to make a drama out of this situation.
We want to make comedy.
I have something to say and I represent this above mentioned whole generation. What I need is to let my voice be heard, because I sense every day, it is a voice common to million young people.
The older ones need to hear what they practically really know: They are to blame - but they will hear it in a much more comical way than it originally sounds.
The word "refugees" does not mean necessarily people driven out of their homes by bombs during some war in the Middle East. You can shop every Saturday expensive clothes in a high-class developed world metropolis... and still be in some need of an asylum.
We are refugees. We are driven out. We worked hard to get driven out. We have studied all life long to succeed in getting into exile and live our life on 22 sq m. through 22".
What We Need & What You Get
We have the places. We have the actors. We have the license to kill- ehm sorry, to film.
First priority. We need equipment. Any spare cameras available?
Second priority. We need some extras. I cannot undertake all roles by myself. Thank you.
Third but not least. We need post production. Some computer freaks who find meaning in their lives through being creative editing videos.
The Impact
We are going to raise a wave of under-30-year-old reactions which will sound like "Oh, that is so correct, I have already thought of that before!" or "Yeah! That is exactly how it feels!". And I know that with these exact words... Because we all have been born and raised to think and feel "American",
A world of young scientists and graduates, prisoners in the helplessness of their luxury-life in USA, Western Europe, Emirates etc. are waiting to laugh with Pericles, the hero of the film - a caricature of every single one of our target group members.
Risks & Challenges
As I said, I would like to let my voice be heard. But you know that the most difficult part is the beginning.
