We are excited to announce that Aesthetics and Therapeutics Lab has been selected for the June, 2014 Full Dome Artist-in-Residency program hosted by Vortex Immersion Media in Los Angeles, California.
Aesthetics and Therapeutics Lab is a collective consisting of art therapist Dr. Marina Masic and emerging media artist Jakob LeBaron Dwight formed in 2013 to initiate experiments and installations in art and healing.
The Vortex Dome studio is a state of the art facility specializing in production and design for effects, gaming, interactive, experiential themed entertainment and immersive dome installation.
ATL will receive exclusive access to the Vortex Dome LA in a state of the art facility located at the heart of L.A. Center Studios, as well as dome production training, consultation with leading experts in the field, and a cumulative dome art show in late June.
In this residency program ATL will be exploring Multi Sensory Environments MSE and their multiple benefits on various populations.
According to findings by MSE pioneer Linda Messbauer, these unique therapeutic environments have shown significant and positive effects for users diagnosed with autism, brain injury, challenging behaviors, dementia, developmental disabilities, mental illness, PTSD, learning disabilities and more.
The results of this research will be developed into art therapy modules to be shared with practitioners internationally.
Aesthetics & Therapuetics Lab needs your help to meet supporting costs for the upcoming residency to be able to participate and additionally to pay for transportation to Los Angeles and personal living expenses while there. We are attempting to raise $5,000 for this endeavor.
Each donor will be gifted with an original artwork by Jakob LeBaron Dwight.
Thank you for your support of this exciting project and continued research into the fusion of art and science.
