Today is Two Toonie Tuesday!
Want to help a bunch of great people make a great film but don't have a ton of cash? Then please contribute $4 today! It might only be the price of a cup of coffee, but it will go a long ways in helping us make Ally Was Screaming!
UPDATE:
People have been asking about the plot of the movie...
Ally Was Screaming is about two nice guys - Seth and Nole. Their longtime friend (Ally) has died, and while they are going through her belongings they find an unclaimed multimillion dollar lottery ticket. They immediately realize that the ticket will go to Ally's abusive ex-husband and begin to scheme as to how they can keep it out of his hands. They find, however, that the longer they hold onto the ticket, the harder it is to let go…
Ally Was Screaming - Feature Film
"Is it possible that what's right isn't what you thought it was?"
Are nice people actually good people? Seth and Nole were once good people, but now they hold a multi-million dollar lottery ticket that's almost theirs. Soon they learn that almost is a very big word, and that sacrifice is even a bigger one. Ally Was Screaming daringly explores the boundaries of morality, the cost of happiness, and the chance of redemption.
Our experienced team is gearing up to shoot this fall so that AWS will be ready to hit the festival circuit in the new year.

There are times in the careers of all of us when we are granted the opportunity to take that next step - a shot at the goal we've been working toward for years. I've been making movies ever since I was a kid. Each small step seemed so monumental at the time: from the first time a short of mine showed on community TV to my first award (AMPIA for best student motion picture), from the completion of my first feature to my first brush with international festivals, reviews and a US distribution deal.

One thing, though, has eluded me - the next step. You see, for all the positive press and success regarding "The End", it was a rather difficult project to find financing for. So we did what we could with the ~ $20,000 that I could scrape together to shoot.
Ally Was Screaming was designed from the beginning to be a project that would be easier to find financing for - but as any filmmaker will attest to, finding financing is far from easy. However, after reading our compelling script, Telefilm demonstrated their faith in the project by giving us 2/3 of the funding that we asked for.
Now at this point you could be asking yourself - why does someone who is getting Telefilm funding need my money? Well, that's the complicating factor. You see, Telefilm wants us to hold to our original budget… and we have to find the missing money by the beginning of October.
I've managed to scrape together some of the money to make up the hole in the budget, but I still need help to close it the rest of the way.
I only make movies if I feel it addresses relevant and pressing themes that are important to society or cinema. With all of the overwhelming work, stress and cash required, it is not something I ever enter into lightly. This movie no exception. "Ally Was Screaming" is our chance to question the very fabric of contemporary society, to compel and entertain, and to do our modest part to change the world.
I know everyone can't contribute financially - but you can still help! Please like us on facebook (www.facebook.com/AllyWasScreaming), and share us with your friends! The more people who find out about the project, the better chance we have of meeting our goal!
