AmbyGear is the world’s first smartwatch specifically designed for kids, based on extensive research. AmbyGear's focus is to positively impact the lives of children improve safety and connectivity with parents.
How does AmbyGear
help keep my child safe?
AmbyGear features built-in GPS, text
messaging and boundary alerts to keep children independent yet safe.
The GPS and boundary alert notifies parents (and kids) if kids have wandered outside a set perimeter.
The test messaging app allows parent to communicate with kids at any time.
There is also a “Finder” app that kids
can use to locate their parents if they feel unsafe.
How do I keep track
of my child with the AmbyGear?
AmbyGear connects to an app on the parent’s
smartphone. With GPS, distance monitoring, geo-fences and texting capabilities,
AmbyGear helps parents keep an eye on their kids even when they’re not within
eyesight.
What happens if AmbyGear is removed?
The AmbyGear smartwatch features a tamper alert that
notifies parents when the watch is removed.
What kind of positive lessons does AmbyGear teach?
Some of the lessons includes the importance of physical activity, responsibility, keeping commitment, time management and kindness.
Does my child need to have a smartphone to use the AmbyGear smartwatch?
No, AmbyGear was designed for
kids who do not have a mobile phone.
With no data plan,
how does my child stay connected?
AmbyGear features long-range Bluetooth (up to 250 yards) and Wi-Fi capabilities (up to 500 yards).
Even in remote areas with no cellphone service coverage, AmbyGear can connect to the parents phone.
If you are across town, AmbyGear connects via secure Wi-Fi.
What age group
AmbyGear is design for?
Ambygear is designed for kids, who don’t have smartphones yet. Typical age group is 3 - 11 year old.
Since parents can download different games and apps to AmbyGear, it can grow with them.
How does the reward
system work?
The reward system is designed to encourage kids to be more physically active, responsible, committed and kind.
By using the AmbyGear watch on a daily basis, kids can collect points for their activities. The points can be traded for rewards.
Parents can select which rewards they want to give their kids and how many points each reward should be.
We do offer a range of recommendations.
What kind of rewards can my child get?
The rewards range from toys that costs a few dollars to small vacations that kids would love to go (ex: Weekend at Legoland). We let the parents select the rewards.

How much does AmbyGear cost?
AmbyGear suggested retail price is $129. However, as part of our
Indigogo campaign, we are offering the AmbyGear smartwatch for $99 for the first 100
backers.
Are there any
additional fees or only one-time purchase price?
AmbyGear requires no subscription fees.
When will I receive
my AmbyGear?
AmbyGear is expected to ship by the Summer 2015.
We are doing our utmost to have the AmbyGear smartwatch shipping before the next school year. We will provide continuous updates about the project and production schedule
during and after the campaign.
Is shipping included
and where will you ship?
Shipping is free within the US. Everywhere else,
shipping is $15 (Backers are responsible for any taxes or customs
duties).
Is there a warranty
for AmbyGear?
Yes, AmbyGear comes with a one-year replacement warranty.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, you can cancel
your order within 30 days.
What are the available
colors?
AmbyGear will come in four colors, Red, Blue, Green and
White.
Can I choose other
colors than Blue, Red, Green and White?
Once we meet campaign stretch goals, we will release more
colors in future.
How do I select the color I want?
After the campaign is over we will send an email with instructions on how to select colors.

What kind of device
do I need to connect to AmbyGear?
AmbyGear works with all platforms: Currently we have an iOS and Android app. If there is demand for Windows phone and Blackberry, we can consider adding those platforms.
iOS: iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, 6, 6 Plus
Android: Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony, Motorola, etc... (as long as those phones have Bluetooth 4.0 or above)
What kind of operating system does AmbyGear use?
AmbyGear uses a version of Real Time OS ( RTOS ). We will be releasing
the SDK to developers so they can develop educational games around AmbyGear ecosystem.
How far does my Smartphone
need to be to the AmbyGear?
For direct connections, kids can go up to 250 yards on BLE and 500 yard on Wi-Fi. Over network-cloud connection, you can find your kids as long as they are up to 500 yards from a hotspot (That's about the length of 4 football fields).
Can I control what
games/activities my child has access to?
Yes. Parents control the games and applications activities on their kid's AmbyGear. Applications can only be pushed
to Ambygear through the parent’s smartphone.
Can I pair Multiple AmbyGear
to one smartphone?
Up to 10 AmbyGear smartwatches can be paired to one smartphone.
5. DURABILITY AND MAINTENANCE
Just how durable is
the AmbyGear?
The AmbyGear smartwatch is waterproof (IPC level 8) and shock proof.
We understand that kids will play with water and dirt, so we considered those factors in the design.
Does the AmbyGear smartwatch need to be charged daily?
No. The AmbyGear smartwatch uses advanced power management and very low power components. Thus, it can go up to 7-days on a single charge.
What kind of screen does AmbyGear use?
We chose an ultra low power display manufactured by
Sharp electronics of Japan. This display is very low power and very readable in bright sunlight.

WHY LONG
RANGE BLUETOOTH?
1. Connection Quality
& Range: AmbyGear uses ultra sensitive 2.4GHz Class 1 Bluetooth technology with an extra radio boost stage and integrated antenna design to achieve the desired range of 250 yards while being low power.
For increased connectivity, AmbyGear switches from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi automatically.
2.
Compatibility. Bluetooth is compatible with the majority of smartphones,
while other low power wireless protocols are more limited and might require a dongle.
3. Simplicity and Reliability: AmbyGear does not require a cellphone plan subscription or cellphone coverage to connect to the parent's smartphone. Out of the box you can start using your AmbyGear.
4. Battery Life: Bluetooth
uses significantly less power than other widely deployed technologies, allowing the battery to last much longer.
