For over 35
years, world renowned wildlife photographer Amos Nachoum, has taken a unique
approach to wildlife photography.
Armed with
nothing but his camera and a spirit of adventure, Amos brings himself up close
and personal to the wildest creatures on earth, capturing some of the most
well-known and iconic images. His
work is what he believes can dispel myths and fears, and prove that man and
wildlife can coexist in harmony.
Over the
years, Amos has also lead hundreds of expeditions, including National Geographic
expedition teams with Dr. Eugenie Clark, Dr. Sylvia Earle, and astronaut Buzz
Aldrin.
He has also been featured in prestigious publications such as TIME, The New York Times, National Geographic, Good Morning America, and many more!

This summer,
Amos will travel deep into the Canadian Arctic, together with Emmy Award
winning cinematographer Adam Ravetch (Arctic Tale). The journey will provide a
firsthand look into an intimate and inspiring story of dedication, sacrifice
and personal redemption. Through Amos’ seasoned eyes we will experience the
effects of climate change on the local culture and wildlife, and through his images we will fall in love.

ABOUT US
![]()
We are Dani Menkin & Yonatan Nir, independent filmmakers passionate about great stories that entertain and inspire, which have to do with the mysterious relationship between man and nature. In 2011 we made Dolphin Boy - a true story about a boy who detached himself from society following a traumatic violent attack, and came back to life thanks to a special connection he developed with Dolphins in the Red Sea.

The film won several awards and took us across the globe to over 130 international film festivals. It's remake rights were recently acquired by Disney Pictures, and it was screened on Cinemax, Channel 4,(UK) and Arte (France & Germany).
Now we’re ready to get to it again!
This time, we focus on Amos; a man that has taken his relationship with nature to extraordinary places.
When
we met first Amos, over 10 years ago. We were immediately captured by his unique
personality and fascinating approach to photography. Since then we have been
waiting for the right time to dive in, and share his untold story. While many
know Amos’ images, only few know his background personal story, which have greatly
influenced his work and shaped his philosophy to photography.

Now, with your
help, we will finally be able to accompany Amos on an adventure of a lifetime,
and expose, for the first time ever, the man behind the photographs, doing what
he does best in his "natural habitat" - the Canadian Arctic.
THE ARCTIC EXPLORATION FUND
Arctic Exploration Fund (AEF) is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to provide rare footage of wild animals, for the use of scientists, resource managers, and animal enthusiasts. With the help of revolutionary GPS enabled cameras, AEF is creating a brand new natural history archive, filmed entirely by the animals themselves. For the first time, viewers can “see what they see”, and discover the true nature of wild animals on our planet.
AEF was funded in 2005, by our outstanding cinematographer
Adam Ravetch, together with Sarah Robertson and Dan Cohen. We share with them the belief that images are the best tool to raise awareness, educate and reconnect humanity with nature. In order to reach our shared goal, we have joined forces, making every contribution you make twice as valuable.
5% of the proceeds of this campaign will go directly to the Arctic Exploration Fund.
All contributions are
tax-deductible - for more questions about our partnership policies, feel free to reach out!
WHY WE'RE MAKING THIS FILM
"When one man, for whatever reason, has the opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself." - Jacques Cousteau
As the legendary Jacques Cousteau said, we believe that Amos' story must be shared with the world. But this isn't just the story of one man, it is the story of humanity and nature, and it carries a universal message.
Amos has made it his life's mission to re-establish a relationship with the biggest, and wildest animals, which society has grown to fear. With every dive, Amos takes a risk, in order to capture the images that will make us fall in love again.
Only after we rediscover nature and it's wonders, will we rediscover our passion to preserve it; this is what we believe in and this is what drives us forward.
ABOUT THE CANADIAN ARCTIC
When terms like
"global warming" and "melting icecaps" seem like worn
cliches, a picture is worth 1000 words. Amos' vast career behind the lens, has
given him a firsthand account to climate change and its effect on the local
culture, habitat and wildlife of the Arctic.
During
the last 35 years, Amos has seen the winters get shorter,
the temperatures get higher, and the sea ice getting
thinner. He has captured the images, heard the sounds and felt the
oceans.
The
Arctic, a highly sensitive region, is viewed by scientists as a harbinger of
things to come. If there is a time to step up, share the images, and raise
awareness it is now. When
contributing to our campaign, you are not just helping independent documentary
film, you are also supporting a cause.

WHAT WE NEED
![]()
As you can probably imagine, an
expedition to the Canadian Arctic is no easy feat. In order to truly capture
Amos in action, face to face with some of the most beautiful and fascinating
creatures on earth, we need your support.
We have
already received a majority of funds from international broadcasters (NDR, France
Télévisions), funds which will go
toward editing and post production. In order to film in the Canadian Arctic
and secure the completion of the film we are still missing $100,000.
Your contributions will go toward diving and photography equipment,
weather resistant gear, travel and additional production costs.
This is our first crowd-funding experience. We believe
that sharing our story on Indiegogo,
is the best way to allow everyone to take an active role in production, and help us raise awareness.
WHAT YOU GET
Your generous contribution can get you more than just good karma. Whether you’re a diver, an ocean lover or a fan of Amos’ work, we have some awesome perks waiting for you! If you have questions on any of the perks feel free to contact us.
