What is Anonymous?
Anonymous is a feature film set in real time over one night, when a seemingly average man turns up at an alcoholics anonymous meeting for the first time, determined to win his battle against addiction.
We are aiming to make the film, take it to festivals and achieve international cinematic distribution, followed by global online platform distribution.

What is it about?
The film deals with addiction – an affliction that comes in so many forms and that everyone is affected by at some point in their lives (either directly or indirectly) and a subject which is not highlighted enough by the arts, considering it’s power.

How will the film impact people?
We are hoping to open people's eyes to the realities of a struggle with addiction with a brutally honest portrayal, but also by including a wide range of characters with diverse backgrounds to demonstrate that addiction can tighten its grip on anyone.
Why do we want to tell that story?
We want to inspire people and help people with addiction, but we also want to let people know that they are not alone. If we can do all of this AND provide people with a well-crafted, entertaining film at the same time we will have achieved our goal.
Why is it unique?
The film is unique in a number of ways. Firstly the budget of £18,000 is 12% of what is considered the threshold for a “micro-budget” film; remember this a feature film we are making, not a short. To be able to make a feature for such a small amount of money takes a lot of planning, passion and hard work but, with this project, it is entirely possible. The story is set in one location and in real time and there are plans to do things with the way that the film is shot that have never been tried before. Ambitious? Absolutely, but with the people involved in the project already it can certainly be done.
Who is behind the film?
Multiple award-winning writer and director Alasdair Mackay (Glow, Best Film, TSFF @ BAFTA 2016; Motherhood, Best Director, The International Microfilm Festival 2018) has written and will produce and direct the film.
Our Los Angeles Production arm is led by Ash Warren, the on-air and on camera host for Female Filmmakers Fuse. Ash has had a long career in the film industry in the United States, working closely with Garry Marshall, director of films such as Beaches, Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries. Ash also hosts her own radio show, Phoenix From the Ashes and is a vocal advocate of inclusivity in the film industry.
Who is in the film?
Casting is still being finalised, but Lukas Hinch, who starred opposite Alice Eve in the feature film The Stolen (now available on Amazon Prime), will be playing the lead role. We also have Parvinder Shergill confirmed, who worked with Mackay recently on the short film Lovebug.
What do we need?
£18,000. That is all. And for that we can get the whole thing done; including post-production and paying for the start of the festival run. If we were going through a private investor we would not be able to make the film for such a small amount, because of the guarantees we would have to build in for the investor. That is what makes crowd-funding so powerful for low-budget film-making – it gives the power back to the artists.
