The Year is 2020 due to the rampant sickness and the wars going on throughout the world the need for blood has reached a critical shortage.
Scientist from the World Heath Organization develop a means to create a synthetic blood using embryonic stem cells with an O- trait. Having an O- type base it can be used as a universal source for the worlds blood needs. This Synthetic blood is used to treat patients across the globe.
In an unforeseen incident during the processing of this blood supply something goes wrong and it becomes contaminated.
The contamination spreads and is hard to detect by blood tests because the stem cell created blood is masking the mutated cells that are lying dormant inside each blood cell.
The first weeks of the contamination the sickness spreads from the undead attacking the living; but it mutates and starts to spread the way a common cold would spread becoming airborne in nature. {This outbreak only affects recent deceased}
Months after the panic has settled a group of doctors come together to figure out how to stop the spread of the contamination without having to destroy the project that is used to create these blood supplies and end the horrors that mankind has brought upon itself.
Story will follow the progress of the medical team trying to create a cure/vaccine and be dotted with the horrors of the undead attacking. We follow the stories of four everyday people and the effects these events have on their lives; Pastor John Roberts Decay who is a Dialysis patient and becomes infected. SSgt Jonathan “Shooter” Kane, a former Marine who is returning from a long tour in the middle east after being medically discharged due to an injury he received while there. Samuel Harper, a truck driver that delivers equipment and supplies to area hospitals, he is a family man that puts his wife and children above all else. And then there is Abigail Sutton, a strong willed woman, Divorced single mother of two, a third year medical student at a local hospital. Story follows the lives of these four people and how they cope with what has happened. How it changes them,makes them stronger for the better or worst of it.
