MeWorks is an Australian startup company currently operating from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We focus on developing products and services in the field of Internet of Things (IoT), Wearable Technology and Robotics.  We like to build gadgets that make your life easier and fun. Hence we have invented arco.   

We are also working on another exciting technology called fodo which we will be launching soon. 

We are quite passionate about our technology and any new technologies in IoT, Wearables, Robotics and Gadgets domains.

We have come a long way to create a prototype that works with iOS device without an app. However, since we want android users to be able to use arco and allow customisation, we are developing the app. 

The only risk that we see is the app development taking a longer than expected time. However, we have enough time to complete the app before we ship the product and we are positive that we can achieve it. Android connectivity to send notifications is possible as it already exists in other products. So we are not facing any difficult challenges of implementing these extra features. We will keep you updated with our progress.

To make this project a reality, we need to achieve our minimum goal of $40,000 so we can get our moulds made, app developed etc. The main challenge that we see is not being able to achieve this goal through Indiegogo. However, we would like to be positive and  we are not going to give up till we reach our goal.

How can I select the colour for my arco's body in order?

You can just place the order now by choosing your suitable perk. After the campaign ends, we will send you a survey asking for the colour preference. 

Does arco work with android devices?

Yes, we are working on an app that will allow arco to work with android devices. Unlike iOS devices, it will need an app to be downloaded which will be available for free. Android compatibility is possible as it already exists in other devices like smart watch for similar features.

Does it work with all smartphones?

Arco works with smartphones with built in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) / Bluetooth SMART. Please check if your smartphone has BLE. For your reference, check this link.

What if I don't have a compatible smartphone? Or what If I don't want smartphone connectivity for arco?

You can still purchase arco as a cool device. There is a functions button on arco which you can use to turn the light on. Kids without a phone can also play with it.

When will it be available?

What is arco?

Arco is a smart reactor that connects to your smartphone via bluetooth and reacts to your phone notifications. Never miss important notifications or phone calls when you are away from your phone in style.

  

How does it work?

Its simple. Just connect it to your smartphone by pairing bluetooth and wait for notifications. Depending on your notification, it will blink different colours. For example, if you get a facebook notification, it will blink blue. If you are getting call it will notify you with red flash, if you get an email it will blink green and so on. (It works without any app with iOS devices)

How can I use it?

You can wear it on your t shirt, place it on your work desk, keep it on your bed side table or place it on your car dash. Basically anywhere you like to be visually notified of your important notifications.

    

You can simply acknowledge your notifications on the phone by viewing it or clearing it. The flashing will stop.

What if I am away from phone, how can I stop arco from flashing?

You can press the function button on the side to stop it from flashing. You don’t necessarily have to go to your phone to do that.

    

At night how can I stop arco from flashing?

You can turn it off, disconnect from your phone or switch your bluetooth off in the phone. If you have the app, you can place it on do not disturb mode.

How can kids play with arco?

Arco is not only for adults. Even kids without phone can use it. Simply turn it on and press the functions button on the side. Arco will start flashing.

Is the battery rechargeable?

Yes, the battery can be recharged using micro USB cable provided. Just like your smartphone.

How long will the battery last?

Since it uses bluetooth low energy which consumes very less power, the battery can last for long. Since arco has RGB LEDs which consume most of the power, the battery life can depend on the usage. However, we are designing to give a battery life of few days at least for normal usage.

How can I wear it?

Arco comes with magnet inside which will allow you to wear it. We will provide you with another magnet piece that you can place it inside your t-shirt to attract arco to you.

How do I mount it anywhere?

Since arco has magnet inside, you can mount it on any metal surfaces like refrigerator. Alternatively, you can stick the extra magnet piece to a non metal surface using double sided tape and then mount arco on it. Arco also comes with an awesome stand which allows you to place arco anywhere, your work desk, bedside table etc.

Can I connect multiple arco to my smartphone?

Yes, you can have multiple arco connected to your smartphone. You can place them at multiple locations where you spend most of your time. They all will react to your notifications.

How many colour options are available for arco's body?

There are 7 options available currently. Scroll up for image. Black, Grey, Bondi Blue, Mahagony Red, Keepsake Pink, Indigo and Cobalt Blue. After the campaign ends, we will send you a survey asking for the colour preference.

How many light colours are possible?

Arco has RGB LEDs which can illuminate 16 million different colours. We are developing an app which will allow you to select any colors you want.

Can arco work without an app?

Yes, If you are using iOS device, you do not need an app unless you want to customise arco. If you have an android device, you will need to use an app to receive notifications.

What is the app for?

The app will allow you to connect arco to your android device. Apart from that it will also allow you to play with the lights and customise arco. Details of this will be available later.
