The Short Scratches
We are a group of passionate filmmakers rooted in the supernatural and horror. Werewolf stories don’t get the treatment we feel they really deserve. And we want to serve it up to you on a silver bullet platter.
We want to create a new, unique, horror web series based on bikers and
werewolves. Only this time the werewolves are women, and all that it
entails in this universe of danger, deception, and blood.
This is a story of not only female empowerment, but of humanity lost and regained.
We have already completed the writing for the majority of a complete
season of episodes. Whether or not they get made will be up to you. This
will let us not only shoot our pilot episode, but get us ready to shoot
more in the future at a lower cost.
All of us were horror fans first. That's why we got into this in the first place. That's why we keep doing it.
The Cast
This ensemble wouldn’t be complete without the amazing actresses willing to put up with us.

What We Need
Let’s cut to the chase: making anything costs money. Making movies and shows are no different. And we want to bring you the best horror we can.
That said, the majority of our budget goes in front of the camera. We already have some gear, but we do need to rent a few key pieces of equipment (namely camera, lens, and some lights) to make this work. And what would any horror show be without the gory makeup effects?
We also believe in paying our cast and crew for their hard work. Very often on low-budget shoots this is overlooked and people volunteer their time. A production also travels on its stomach -- food is a realistically priced line item in our budget. And if experience has taught us anything, barbecue is not going to be a meal.
As for the producer and director, they won’t see a dime. In fact, they’re already contributing out of their own pockets for some of the expenses incurred to help keep the budget down.
When Do You Shoot?
We want to shoot this pilot episode as soon as the campaign is finished. Which means we would get going in the first week of June. Pre-production is wrapped up at this point, so now it's up to you!
What You Get For Helping
We are planning on making what we call the Director’s UnCut Edition of this pilot episode available as a perk. This includes extended, gorier cuts plus behind-the-scenes footage, commentary, and a personalized thank-you card signed by the actresses.
But we’re not going to leave out anyone who contributes a lower amount. So we’re also putting this up online for every contributor for streaming before anyone else can see it. We're also going to make it available for download in multiple DRM-free formats. We hate DRM; it’s pointless, easily defeated, and treats honest people like criminals.
For our high rollers we’re also offering signed and possibly bloody copies of the script used on set and signed by the cast and crew. This is probably the most collectible item we can offer, a piece of the production itself.
What You Do For Us
You… complete us. Well, in a way you do.
We’re not going to lie and say we have all this experience with crowdfunding. In fact, it's really our first time doing this together. But we do have experience making horror films, writing them, and producing them. And we know how to deliver on that.
We’re realistic about what we want to accomplish with our budget. It's not ambitious but pragmatic. If we do exceed our goal, we also have a few more goodies in store for our contributors. Anything extra would allow us to kick in upgraded budget items such as renting a nicer camera.
Taxes and fees are also figured in. The Man has to get his cut, too.
Bottom line: we can do this with the budget set forth. Anything above and beyond that will go back into the production to make it even better. And that means a better experience for you.
If You Can't Contribute...
That’s cool too. Money is not the only way you can help make this happen. Tell your friends and family (everyone has a horror fan in their family tree), spread the word across the land. You can even like our Facebook page.
Or you could donate to help some orphans out.
