The Astonishing Adventures of All American Girl & The Scarlet Skunk is a romantic comedy about masked crime-fighters in 1948.
A new production is coming June 18th-June 24th 2016 to the Trans Theater Festival at The Brick theater in Brooklyn New York. The producers are also mounting a second production on October 3rd & 4th 2016 at Theater For The New City.

Thrill to the adventures of All American Girl and her plucky sidekick The Scarlet Skunk as they wage a two-fisted battle against injustice! Can they stand against the nefarious Doctor Mindshrinker and his deadly atomic ray gun? Will they find love on the rooftops of New York City? Find out in a tale unlike anything you have witnessed before! Brought to you by Chocolate Fluffo, the Super delicious dessert topping!"
The production team behind "Astonishing Adventures" is responsible for the post-apocalyptic comedy “That Cute Radioactive Couple” along with decades of previous theatrical productions.
Playwright Charles Battersby is also the screenwriter of The Storyteller: Fallout, an animated science fiction webseries by Shoddycast.
"Astonishing Adventures" may be a comedy about punching evildoers, but it uses humor to address serious themes that include women’s rights, “Moral Panic” and transgender issues.
WHAT WE NEED
The show is set in 1948, and has a cast of eight performers who will all need period costumes and superhero uniforms. We also have a crew who will run our lights and sound.
Funding from our sponsors will pay for raw materials to hand craft costumes, and props. It will also provide compensation to the crew and cast, and cover costs of rehearsal space.
If our crowdfunding campaign exceeds the production costs of the show's run in June, we will use the additional funds for the run in October, and to fund readings at other events in 2016 and 2017.
WHAT YOU GET
Sponsors who can't make it to see the show live can get a downloadable audio recording in the style of a classic radio play. Sponsors can also receive autographed playbills, unique costume pieces worn onstage during the show, and can become comic book characters seen onstage during multimedia sequences.
