Short Summary

Athens: the comic book #1 was a collection of short stories inspired by Athens - the chaos, the beauty, the darkness, diversity and hope found in this great city. We sent an open call for stories, gave freedom to participants to choose their theme, and received 16 fantastic, romantic, realistic, social, and above all true experiences. The book was printed in the autumn of 2015.

2 years later, the political and social situation is quite different, and Athenian's state of mind too. We wanted to make a new antology, but more curated, with more social content, and longer stories . That was the main idea behind the second call.

Artists manage to  express today's Athens feeling in many different ways, and that makes those anthology so interesting. We are living historical times, not only in Greece of course, but wanted to have a different kind of record of today. That what came up as most interesting in the first book, and that's what we wanted to focus on with the second.

This campaign will help us print this second edition, in color and 2 languages (English and Greek), in order to have a broader audience. 

The last book had a good success for a comic, in Greece, selling 400 copies aproximately.

The second book is of much higher quality, gaining from our previous experience and in color.

The Alternative Tours of Athens (ATA) are a team of architects, photographers, artists and musicians who organize open, educational, informative and entertaining tours in Athens.
