The digital speedometer for Audi B8, C7, D4 platform vehicles

Eligible vehicles*:

B8 variants 2009 ~ 2016 8R Q5, SQ5 (up to 2017),

B8 variants 2008 ~ 2016 8T: A5, S5, RS5, 8K: A4, S4, RS4

C7, D4 variants 2010 ~ 2018 C7: A6, A7, S6, S7, RS6, RS7

2010~2017 D4: A8, S8

*Model year may vary for each country thus check the compatibility with your car's platform code(B8, B8.5, C7, C7.5, D4 or engineering code 8R, 8T, 8K, 4G, 4H).

The digital speedometer dash product will feature:

- 10.25" Sunlight readable high brightness LCD for C7, D4 product
8.8" Sunlight readable high brightness LCD for B8 product

- 4 x 1080p AHD Video input channels for aftermarket front, left, right & rear view camera feeds

- 1 x HDMI input (720p)

- Linux/QT/Java application execution: Speedometer, advanced real time vehicle diagnostic information display will be implemented.

- Apple CarPlay/Android Auto (wired/wireless)

- WIFI/BT preparation for apps

- 2 USB port for firmware upgrades and CarPaly/Android Auto

- UI control with Audi factory steering wheel buttons(only to applicable vehicles)

- discreet 5 way control switch for cars without steering wheel buttons

- Automatic video switching on when left or right turn signal indicator has been activated, or reverse gear has been selected.

- Customizable Advanced Diagnostic Information display: Animated Speedometer Speed (mph or km/h), Tachometer (RPM), MAF sensor reading, Boost reading, Voltage information, G-Force indicator and so on.

- Drop in replacement: Purchasers will be required to open their factory Audi instrument cluster, remove the instrument cluster mainboard, inserts the purchased digital speedometer assembly, re-assemble their Audi instrument with the new digital speedometer cluster assembly using their original Audi factory rear housing.

- Fail-Safe: The digital speedometer system is isolated from the original Audi speedometer. All the information from the factory small centre screen for the trip computer, digital speedometer and MMI information will be displayed over new UI as a visible overlay(possible to hide). The factory Audi immobilizer will be maintained and will be unaffected by this change. The factory LED warning indicators such as "low tire pressure", "engine check light", "Air Bag warning" etc will be relocated but will retrain the original OEM functionality. Furthermore, for the vehicles with ACC and NightVision, the function will be retained as they were and still accessible in new cluster.

- Fully updatable firmware: RSNAV will provide firmware updates and functional upgrades to the software. RSNAV will work to implement the most wanted features from its customer base based on consumer feedback and feasibility to implement within the limit of the hardware support.

The system will be running an embedded version of linux with QT UI for real time response - 'zero delay'. The projected boot up time for the speedometer and RPM gauge is under 5 seconds.
