Bags of Hope
**Have you ever walked by a hungry homeless person on the cold streets of New York City and wanted to do something to help but couldn't at that very moment? Well now you can!
My name is Liliana Hicks. I am a senior a Richard R. Green high school of Teaching in New York City. I am part of The Future Project, a non-profit organization that helps teenagers dreams come true. Living in New York City, I have witnessed many that are not as fortunate as me. My dream is to provide the less fortunate with hope.
I will begin to accomplish this dream by putting together 60 bagged lunches containing sandwiches and inspiration and handing them out to the hungry and the homeless on the streets of New York City. If you have the same dream and would like to help please donate what ever you can. We need $500 to put together a hearty meal! Anything helps! All your donations will go to the ingredients in the bagged lunch (includes a water, a sandwich, a snack, and a dessert).
During the distribution of the Bags of Hope, we will be uploading pictures of the people we have together given hope to. Please spread the word about Bags of Hope and make some noise about this wonderful cause. This is a first step in my dream to provide hope to those in need!
If you have any questions, please email me at lilyh0926@gmail.com.
More about me, Liliana!
In addition to my dream to help others in need, I LOVE WRITING POETRY! Last year through this wonderful organization (
The Future Project) I was able to publish a poetry book, Think the Thinks You Can't Think - a collection of my own personal poems. My book can be found on lulu.com. I will include some of my poems and words of insipiration in the Bags of Hope to provide encouragement and hope to those that may have given up. This project, "Bags of Hope," will enable me to accomplish both my dreams - giving hope to those less fortunate though words of inspiration and food in their bellies.
