Best
Served Cold is a new comedy web series that focuses on one of the most
basic human desires… revenge.
But getting revenge can be risky. When
taking matters into your own hands, there’s always a danger that things will
blow-up in your face and be traced back to you.
That’s why the characters in Best Served Cold have decided to start
providing revenge services to people who have been wronged, letting them get
the discreet vengeance they deserve without putting themselves in harm’s way.
The show follows our three main
characters:
Along the way, they’ll meet a wide
variety of off-the-wall clients and characters that will lead them into
ridiculous (and sometimes dangerous) situations.
This Indiegogo campaign aims to fund the first
season of Best Served Cold, which is
made up of 6 episodes of roughly 10 minutes apiece.
We’re Brandon Calder, Ryan George and Samuel Brisson, otherwise known as Moving Mind Studio! Since 2010, We’ve been making comedy
sketch videos online, and have worked super hard to build an awesome, dedicated
following and have attracted millions of views on YouTube! (you guys are
awesome.)
We know
what you’re thinking: “That’s all well and good, but can you tell us more about
yourselves in the form of an original rap song?”
Excellent question.
We’re super proud of
what we’ve been able to accomplish on YouTube. Over the past five years, we’ve
managed to build up a channel that’s gotten over 8.5 million views, and has
over 25,000 subscribers. We’ve even been featured in some amazing places like
CBC News, Global News, Virgin Radio, CollegeHumor and more.
But every video we’ve made was created with little to no money;
and whatever money we did
spend, came directly out of our pockets.
Since we were able to create video content that people connected with on
shoestring budgets, we would love the chance to show what we’re capable of with the proper investments we need to take our content to the next level.
Indiegogo is also an incredible platform for us
to collaborate with you. We see this as an
opportunity to connect directly with
you guys throughout the entire process;
and build this crazy thing together from the ground up!
Filmmaking takes a lot of money. We want to be completely transparent about how exactly your contributions will help make Best Served Cold a reality.
Equipment: Cameras, lenses, lights, grip and more!
Marketing: With so much content being uploaded online every day, it's important to invest in promoting our project to help it reach as many people as possible!
Art Department: Important things like makeup, costumes, props and decor!
Food: Because most of the people working on the series will be human, they all need to be fed to be kept alive!
Misc: Those surprise costs that always pop up during shoots, as well as fulfilling all the IndieGogo perks for you guys!
Transport: Transporting all the equipment we need from point A to point B to point XYZ, as well as the cast & crew!
Insurance: "You break it, you buy it" is not a policy we can afford to live by, so we need to cover our collective butts!
