Hi, I'm Dan Chang, owner of Wang Chung's Karaoke Bar. 5 years ago, I opened a teeny tiny karaoke bar in the heart of Waikiki. An engineer by trade, I never thought I would ever open and operate a bar, let alone start up my second one. I think an episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations back in 2006 featuring the tiny hidden bars in Japan called nomiyas planted a seed somewhere in my subconscious. 

So five years later, Wang Chung's has become the Cheers of Waikiki. The team and I have met so many amazing people, that we truly call our friends and family. It has organically grown to become this special place, because of you. Your hugs. Your aloha. Your good energy. When we put this much love into it, we put our mana in it. And it becomes more than the sum of us, it is the sum of every smile, every person and every happy moment that comes through these doors. Wang Chung's becomes a place where the mana of the people is infused and permeated in the atmosphere. It truly becomes something else.

Wang Chung's at it's current space is probably the smallest bar in Waikiki. And though I joke that "it's not size that matters," I've always wanted to have a bigger space to accommodate our growing ohana.

I'm incredibly excited to announce that we're getting a bigger Wang!

The new bar will be a one-minute walk away from the current location. Located in the lobby of the Stay Hotel at 2424 Koa Ave, we'll be able to feature karaoke, 12 draught beers on tap, an open kitchen, and just a lot more of the Wang special sauce that you've come to know and love. 

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support for these past five years! I'm positive that all the good energy that you've brought with you will outgrow our new space too.
