Black Panther is designed with functionality in mind, making light work of the toughest tasks. From starting fires, cutting boxes and cords, to escaping from windows in an emergency, we’ve engineered every part of this micro blade to be versatile in all situations.

What can this small knife be used for? We thought you'd never ask. Integrating Black Panther's built-in features with accessory options, the possibilities are endless. Here are just a few examples, and the list just goes on...

• Fire Starter 

A common misconception is striking a firesteel rod with the cutting side of the blade. Doing so damages your blade, and it's not necessary when we know you put in time and effort for blade maintenance. We've designed a notch on the back of the blade, specifically for striking firesteel rods. The notch fits most rods, and it allows you to start fires easily, without damaging the blade.

Who doesn't like opening a bottle like a badass?

• Cutting & Carving 

The hawkbill blade design "grabs" onto whatever it's cutting. The result? You don't have to apply too much force, a little force goes a long way, and cuts smooth like a hot knife through butter.

Precision is key

It all started with an idea - to create the best micro blade possible. A design that is small enough to be attached to your keys, and still effective for everyday tasks when you need it. We went through 3 prototypes, adding functions and making improvements each step of the way, to present you with the best version of Black Panther. 

It took us months of iteration and hard work to get us where we are today.

Research & Development

We chose Crucible S35VN stainless steel despite its high cost, to ensure Black Panther can handle all kinds of tasks that you may throw at it.

As Knife Informer states in Guide to the Best Knife Steel - “you would struggle to find any steel with better edge retention, toughness and stain resistance for the money.”

S35VN steel is also the superior version of S30V steel, which "was designed in the US and is typically used for the high-end premium pocket knives and expensive kitchen cutlery.” Unlike other knives with 440C or AUS8 steel, we wanted to use the best stainless steel we can afford to construct Black Panther.

Risk & Challenges

The Black Panther is in its final stage of product development and we’re really excited to finally present our hard work to you. Production is lined up and ready to go, now all we need is YOUR HELP to push it through to mass production. Once this campaign is complete and funded, we can get the production going and begin shipping.

We’re working closely with the manufacturer to ensure that deadlines are met and rewards are delivered in a timely manner. However, if demand becomes overwhelmingly high and/or unforeseeable challenges occur, there may be some delays. Whenever that happens, we will keep you in the loop and do everything we can to achieve the best possible results.

Do you offer worldwide delivery?

Yes, we do. Depending on your location the delivery time may vary from 2-4 weeks from your Perk's estimated delivery date. We will make sure to dispatch on time according to your chosen Perk, and will certainly keep you posted on updates.

How to sharpen my Black Panther knife?
Black Panther blade is made of S35VN steel and comes razor-sharp out of the box, and will remain sharp for a very long time. However, with intensive and regular use, you may need to resharpen the blade. Sharpening a curved edge is no different than with a straight edge, you just need to use a rounded sharpening stone. DMT rods are a great option among others.

Can the Black Panther Rust?

It is very unlikely, the blade of the Black Panther is made of American S35VN Stainless steel and offers a very high corrosion resistance. However, stainless does not mean “stain proof” and proper care is required to maintain your knife in top condition. Drying the knife before storing it is a good practice.

What is the warranty for the Black Panther knife?

We offer warranty towards any defects in material and workmanship. Damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse or abuse of the Black Panther knife are not covered by this guarantee.

Is the Back Panther knife legal in my country?

Black Panther’s 1.6 inches blade is legal in most places. But laws and regulations are different in every country. To avoid issues upon receiving Perks, we strongly recommend and encourage our backers to check with their local authorities and customs before backing. It is the recipient’s responsibility to not infringe the law by importing and/or carrying this knife.

The item may also be subject to import taxes depending on your location. Recipients are responsible for the fees and taxes that occur at local customs.

We cannot guarantee the speed of customs clearance, but with the help of our fulfillment partner, we will do our best to have your shipment delivered as smoothly as possible.

Other main features we get asked about - 

High flat grind - Starting from the center of the blade, to maintain thickness and strength on the spine.  

Glass breaker & pocket clip - the glass breaker screws into the spacer and secures the pocket clip. The pocket clip can be positioned on either side of the knife. The base of glass breaker will be hexagonal on the final version, making it easier to secure in place.
