For tabletop game enthusiasts, a dice and card game based on Blue Shift has been in development for some time now. This perk is an early Alpha Edition of the Blue Shift card game that will be for sale online later this year. This game has already been through some play testing and is quite fun if you enjoy tabletop games.

WHAT IS THIS FILM ABOUT?

'Blue Shift' is a short film based on the story found in a science fiction novella named 'Blue Shift: A Starfall Chronicle' released earlier this year. The story focuses on Commander Shen, a formidable elite alien law officer, who is also something of a short-sighted hot-head. When tasked with the mission of recapturing a deep space prison ship that has been hijacked by it's own prisoners, Shen’s impulsive cowboy-like actions give multiple alien convicts the chance they need to escape to a little blue planet called Earth. Now these very dangerous extraterrestrial fugitives are running around on our world, doing God knows what to whoever they please, and no one can stop them, other than Shen, his attractive android partner Seesix and a mysterious man in black known only as Mr. McGrath.

The source material is a 115 page novella, and we're shooting for roughly a half hour adaptation that can be distributed as an independent film, while serving as a TV pilot or proof-of-concept for a larger production.

WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE FILM NOW?

The film is currently in mid-production with all of the characters and environments created and ready to go. Several of the characters have already been cast and voiced, and as one can see by watching the trailer, some notable animation and visual effects work has already been done.

We're very proud of what has been created so far, and with your help, we're extremely sure that 'Blue Shift' will be very cool once it's complete.

WHAT IS NEEDED...

While all of the principle artwork is done and most of the characters have been voiced, there are still a lot of animation and visual effects work to be done, and there are still a couple of important character voices who have not been cast yet. Also, over the past two years, one person has basically been doing over 90% of all the animation and VFX work on this production... and he really could use a professional hand or two.

Plus, the technical side of this production has gotten very far, mostly with inexpensive and out-of-date software, as well as a pair of computers that aren't completely ideal for rendering a lot of CGI footage. To finish this show, investing in at least a few higher-end tools is a definite must.

WILL I CRINGE WHEN I LOOK AT THIS THING?

Unlikely... The guy in charge of this production is a trained animation and visual effects professional that has worked for years on numerous live action and animated productions, including Spongebob Squarepants: Sponge Out of Water and several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, such as Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers.

Plus, a lot of time and work have gone into putting together an appealing and consistent aesthetic, vibe and overall atmosphere for the story to take place within.

Her accent can swing from proper English to Southern Belle to standard American, as well as many characters in between.
