Short Summary
I'm Chicago Police Officer Gareth Woods. I'm also a singer-songwriter, amateur inventor, husband and father of three. I work hard to provide for my family and to perform my jobs to the best of my ability. Being a police officer in a busy district in Chicago's west side can be very challenging. It can be tough to maintain a good disposition given the intensity of the situations we find ourselves in on a daily basis. Most people are very supportive and we, as police officers, are provided with resources to deal with the various challenges the job presents such as PTSD support, councelling, vests and equipment for protection etc. However, I am truly amazed at the lack of consideration to the problems of over-heating and sweating, the last things any officer needs in an already stressful environment. Those who wear protective vests are all too familiar with the feeling of sweating through their shirt and having to wear it, wet, all day. This campaign will allow me to bring to market an effective product that will help alleviate that problem and to provide it at an affordable price for all police, military and security personnel. It is the first of it's kind that is removable, washable, extremely light weight with a very low profile. It's simple yet highly effective. Inflate when needed, deflate when not. By supporting this campaign you will help to greatly improve the daily lives of thousands of Officers who put their lives on the line to provide protection for all.
What We Need & What You Get
So far, my wife and I are the only investors funding this project, entirely with our own money. It's pretty simple though. We need to raise enough money to make a minimum order of one thousand units. I'm offering a 30% discount on any pre-order here. That's $35 for one Bluhalo instead of $50. I need to raise $15000 in order to fund that minimum order. If I don't reach my entire goal, we will borrow the balance in order to fulfill. We have sourced a factory, developed and field tested the product and we are ready to produce. We anticipate delivery to you, the buyer, to be approx. 2 to 4 weeks from the campaign's end. The product is patent pending and I personally know it works extremely effectively because I and several of my co-workers have been using it all summer. I love mine and wouldn't be without it!
The Impact
If you are an officer, then you already know, this product will help you stay cooler, dryer and more comfortable. It weighs less than an ounce and is un-detectable under the vest when deflated. You literally cannot feel it's there when it's deflated. It is made from a high strength, very lightweight material. Simply remove it in winter or when washing the vest cover. Wipe with a damp cloth to clean it. Save on laundry, stay cooler, be more comfortable.

Risks & Challenges
One of the main risks and challenges to any inventor is being able to create awareness of the product. I don't have a background in marketing or advertising nor do I currently have much of a budget for it.
