Our Story:
My husband and i have been running an Adult Soccer Group in NYC
for 4 years. We have over 1,500 members and are truly honored to
provide them with the ability to play soccer without paying the crazy
league fees.
After we had our little girl, Ali, we realized that the league fee's are
nothing compared to kids soccer classes fees in NYC. Our goal now is to
do the same for children as we did for adults.
So….
We are happy to present: BRAINY SPORTS!!!
The idea is to integrate sports with basic pre-school
education.
We brought together some of the best educators and sport
coaches in New York City with the objective of developing spectacular holistic
soccer classes. As if this wasn’t enough, we are taking it further by making
these the most affordable, high quality, toddler soccer classes in NYC! The fees for the classes will support the FREE CLASSES offered to kids that other wise would never get a chance to participate.

Brainy Sports has combined three of the most important
aspects of Child Development:
1.
Mental - Brainy Sports Soccer classes seamlessly
include, number, color, and basic concept development. (Read

2.
Physical - Brainy Sports Soccer classes develop
essential motor skills by including running, jumping, and more complex physical
movements. (Articles

3.
Social - Brainy Sports Soccer classes are designed
to prepare your child for Kindergarten or Pre-School. Most children do not have
practice in team work and social organization when they enter Pre-School; this
makes the transition process very stressful on the child. These classes are
designed to ensure your child has the social stimulation necessary to develop
these skills. (Read

What We Need:
The curriculum is already developed. So the funding we need
is for:
1. Equipment- These are more than just your basic
soccer classes. So in addition to soccer gear we also need educational
equipment. (example: Large Letters for the kids to jump over). The cost for the equipment is $600.
2.
Training- We need to pay for coach training. We
estimate that we need at least 3 well trained coaches. The cost is $350 for the teacher and coaches.
3.
Website Development- A well put together
website. The cost for what we need is about $1,500.
4.
Permits- Field Permits and indoor rentals. We have to pay for the whole season before any classes are ever planned. The cost for the summer permits is $1200 and $800 for fall.
5.
Insurance-Youth Sports Insurance. The cost is $600.
6.
Uniforms- Little t-shirts for the kids. This is
important because it reinforces unity and team work. About $400 for the year.
7.
Promotions- Getting the word out
about the new classes. This is the hardest and most expensive part. We have to be see over other organizations that have $100,000 ad budgets. We hope to start with a budget of $1,000.
8.
Development- Other sport curriculum's, we would
like to offer more than just soccer. We need to hire coaches with other sport knowledge and put them with an educator. About $1000 to develop a baseball, basketball, and football curriculum.
The total cost of the project is: $7450
About half of the classes will be free and the others only 1/3 of our competitors cost. As you can see we can not do this without community support.
