The Glorious Justice Collective needs your help to produce their live album!
We're a collective of musicians and artists who have been putting together a thrilling live rock opera show and want to make a great live album for our fans to bring the adventure home. With your help we can make that amazing live album and ensure the experience lives on!
We have been pouring our energy into this production for the last two years and it is culminating in an epic 8 show run at the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival! Your help can give it a permanent legacy!
The increase in quality provided by your support will really improve the production value of the album and let us make it the best it can be.
About Glorious Justice
Glorious Justice is the epic story of evil overlords, elemental forces, and enslaved peoples engaged in a battle royale of historic proportions. The humans under the yoke of their cruel supernatural masters must find the power within themselves to rebel and overthrow their Draconic oppressors in the hope of freedom and a brighter future. Lord of the Rings meets Hamilton.
This 12-piece band pits the operatic three-part soprano harmonies, face-melting guitar, and cello solos of the imperialist three-headed dragon against the horn section of the Frost Giants, mixed with the passionate singing, drumming, and energy of the Humans who must liberate the Horn of Glorious Justice in order to gain their freedom. This power metal experience is one that will take you on a fantasy adventure of conquering ruthless despots and fighting to bring glorious justice to the land!
With your support, we are producing a live album during the Edmonton Fringe to bring Glorious Justice to all!
Why we need you
Recording music isn't cheap. We need charts for all the musicians. There are copyright and publishing fees. We need additional equipment, extra rental time for tech rehearsals at the venue, and of course a sound recording and engineering crew. There are musician fees, travel costs, and accommodations for our out-of-province members. Then, once the music is on tape, there are hours of editing, mixing and mastering that go into turning all of this into music you can listen (and sing along) to. The more money we raise during this campaign, the better the music. Oh, and let's not forget cover art and design!
The good news is we know how to record live music! Our musicians have extensive studio experience and our recording team has done this before – check out Caleb Nelson's resume below!
Thank you so much for your support. Please help us by sharing this project with anyone you know who loves live theatre, music, and the fight for glorious justice!
What We Need & What You Get
We need your help to mix and master the raw music we get from the live show. This is what will make the album sound awesome when you take it home or sing along on road trips:
MIXING: This is the first step after recording which involves adjusting and combining the tracks in stereo format.
MASTERING: When the album is mastered the different elements are carefully balanced and optimised for different systems and media formats. This is where our audio wizard works on the equalization, compression, limiting, and stereo enhancement.
The majority of the funds will go to ensuring the album is great to listen to. Our sound expert is the amazing Caleb Nelson, Edmonton-based musician, professional sound engineer, and owner of Silver Studios.
He has a background in choral singing for several choirs across Alberta, as well as in trumpet for collaborative jazz bands. He plays bass, piano, guitar, and performs vocals. Additionally, he helped form and run the a cappella band, 6 Minute Warning. He has been providing vocal coaching for the singers and is on board to record, mix and master the live album being crowdfunded during the festival.
Bonus Content Currently Includes:
-A video of the show
-Funny recorded comments that happened during practice
-The Score! We've fully scored out the show so you can play along at home if you want.
