In continuing to operate Bubbles Academy throughout this pandemic, we've been doing our best to honor what's most important to us: our team of teachers, our families and greater community and our mission to provide the highest quality early childhood education.  

Since the COVID-19 closure started mid-March, we have sung, danced and adventured with over 18,000 smiling faces at free and pay-what-you-can rates.

During the forced closure, Bubbles Academy pivoted overnight to offer virtual classes to the community, launch e-learning for preschool students, and foster a sense of connection and community through technology.

The closure extended weeks and then months past what was expected, and the core team of teaching artists rallied around a Virtual Bubbles Academy. They came up with new classes, new offerings, innovative ways to make virtual classes more engaging, and even built a virtual summer camp from scratch.

We appreciate the way this community has cheered for us and supported us every step of the way. You and your children have kept us going and helped to strengthen our mission.

As we welcome our first small groups of preschool students back in the building and move through limited re-opening phases, we need your help NOW MORE THAN EVER.

To safely operate under the current guidance from DCFS, CDC, and IDPH, we are restricted in what we can offer in person like many other industries. Our preschool classroom capacity is capped lower than our typical classroom size and we are not yet able to offer in-person parent-child classes. However, the fixed costs to operate our space, pay our rent, employ our loving teachers stay the same. The costs to keep everyone safe with the necessary PPE & sanitation procedures continue to rise, while our revenue is at less than 25%.

Bubbles Academy needs to raise $50,000 over the course of this campaign to continue operating safely in our Bucktown space.
