By launching this crowdfunding campaign, Luke and the team behind Burn wishes to see this movie through and have our fans and supporters to feel like they are a part of the Burn team. We hope to keep them engaged and involved in every step towards making this feature film.
This is in contrast with how most commercial movies usually keep the details and making of a film in high confidentiality until theatrical release. The success of the crowdfunding campaign will also be a good gauge of how soon the fans and supporters wants this movie to be made and we hope that they will be just as excited to see the movie coming to fruition.

4. What’s in it for the fans and supporters?
Trust us, the perks for this crowdfunding campaign are really awesome! We’ve put plenty of thought into this as we’d like it to be a rewarding experience for the fans and supporters. This will be one of the most exciting crowdfunding campaigns ever held in Singapore for an action-thriller feature film. We want our fans and supporters to be involved in this film all the way and make sure that the end product will make Singapore proud in the film industry internationally.
5. What happens to the funds that are contributed if the amount is below the expected target budget for the film? Will the film still be made?
Yes, the film will still be made. We’ll take this as a challenge and work within the means to produce this film with the help of our supporters who have contributed to it.
6. How long will the crowdfunding campaign be on?
One month from 3 May 2016.
7. What can viewers expect from the film?
A visually spectacular action-thriller film that will have viewers on the edge of their seats. There will be no stunt doubles for the fight scenes; the cast will be performing their own stunts and what you see will be our cast pushing themselves to the limit. The visual effects will be on par with Hollywood’s standards of an action-thriller film – we aim to make Singapore proud!
If our target budget is not met, we will still produce a film with good content. We believe that nothing is impossible until we’ve tried our best.
8. How did the idea for Burn come about?
Burn was conceived in early 2015. Producer/Actor Luke Lee has always had a strong passion and deep admiration for filmmaking and emotionally-charged, action-packed television series and films such as Netflix’s Daredevil and Gareth Evans’ The Raid 2 and wanted to create something defining and Singaporean. Slowly, the seeds of a fresh script took form and with each draft of Burn, the characters evolved. Hence, Luke began assembling a team of professionals together for an action trailer that he intended to develop into a full-length action thriller feature film.
9. Describe your cast in just one sentence.
You won’t want to pick a bone with any of them – just kidding!
We have brought this cast together with very careful consideration on their physique, strength, agility, acting experience, martial arts experience and most importantly, their ability to bring their characters to life.
10. Will there be any international actors/actresses in the film?
YES! We are currently in talks with some amazing people – both fresh faces and veterans – both in Singapore and internationally. Audiences will love them! We can’t wait to reveal them!
11. What kind of cinematography and visuals are we looking at?
In terms of visuals, Luke was particularly inspired by the long, fluid tracking shots in so many of David Fincher’s works along with his distinctive black and blue color palette and the use of shadows to evoke a sense of ‘darkness’ in characters. We hope to prove that a limited budget does not necessarily limit the scale and ambitions of a film. If one works hard and collaborates with the right people, one will have the capacity to create something truly incredible!
12. Your perks sound pretty exciting, but I want more exclusive content! Any way I can get more?
Of course! We'll introduce new and exciting perks as the campaign progresses as well in addition to the ones we already have. We want to make this as much of a fun, collaborative process as possible and give you guys great rewards for supporting our film!
13. What currency are Burn's perks in? US Dollars or Singapore Dollars? What if I'm from another country outside of Singapore and the US?
All Indiegogo perks have to be raised in USD. If you're outside of the US (Asia, UK etc), the normal conversion rates will apply for you!
14. How long will it take for you to get the perks to me? I want them now!
We want you to get them fast too! However we're also human, like you (hopefully!), so we do need time for packaging, customising your perks and shipping. This ensures that we get the best and most exclusive perks to your doorstep (depending on the perk!)
15. Can I suggest perks for Burn too?
Definitely. We want to hear what YOU want, and we'll brainstorm on our end how to make that a reality. BURN CROWDFUNDING TERMS & CONDITIONS
By contributing to Burn's crowdfunding campaign, you expressly acknowledge the following:
(a) Your monetary contribution is a pure donation to support our project Burn with no return (other than the perks offered on our Indiegogo campaign site which are subject to whether the production of Burn materialises).
(b) If for any reason whatsoever, the production of Burn does or does not materialise, the money paid in support of our campaign remains non-refundable.
(c) The perks will be enforced only if the production of Burn materialises, and in the event that the production of Burn does not materialise, the perks will not be enforced.
(d) Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
