Our Mission
Bust A Move is an athletics equipment company dedicated to keeping all girls active, regardless of body type. Using mechanical engineering principles, we have designed a supportive, patent-pending sports bra to meet the specific needs of busty athletes. We believe sports bras are sports equipment™ and that, with the right equipment, girls can tackle any challenge and face any competitor with comfort and confidence.

Our Problem
Studies show that over 50% of girls drop out of sports by the age of seventeen, and one major reason for this is breast development. The UK Journal of Adolescent Health found that 73% of busty girls cite their breasts as a deterrent to exercise. Yet major brands fail to build products specifically for busty athletes. They design sports bras with the industry standard of B cup, even while the average bra size in the United States is DD. As a result, busty athletes often wear two, three, even six sports bras at a time to create the support they need to perform.
Our Solution
Bust A Move's bra is designed by a busty athlete-engineer who prioritizes function over fashion. We believe sports bras are sports equipment™ as opposed to intimates or underwear. Sports bras are as essential to an athlete as cleats or shin guards. Our patent-pending design minimizes the Moment of Inertia, which is the resistance to a change in motion. With more Inertia, there is more breast bouncing and, therefore, more pain for the athlete. Our sports bra design also addresses several other problems that our target users have, including stress on the neck and difficulty putting bras on and off. We’ve engineered our sports bra to solve multiple problems in one, easy-to-use, accessible product.
The Bust A Move sports bra has three key features designed to minimize inertia.
Adjustable Band: Support starts from the bottom up with our adjustable band, which takes some of the strain off the shoulders and reduces total displacement.
Encapsulation Layer: While the outer layer compresses the breasts, the inner encapsulation layer redistributes the weight across the chest to prevent cleavage and side-to-side movement.
Dispersive Straps: We added dispersive straps to the bra’s traditional racerback design to increase its surface area on the shoulders, which in turn decreases back and neck tension.
Our Plan
To date, we've made product samples by collaborating with amazing female designers, we've submitted a patent application for our design, and we're working with a team of engineers to test our sports bra to ensure it is the best on the market.
While we're finishing product development and testing, we need some funding to keep the momentum going. We're offering merchandise for your donation to welcome you to the Bust A Movement and say thank you for all of your support!
Our Team

Your Impact
Your generous contribution will allow us to hire a grading specialist, who will take our pattern and ensure that every busty athlete can get the support she deserves. This is a necessary step to take before we can send our sample to a manufacturer. If we raise more than our goal, we plan to offer multiple color options: white, black, and a bonus color!
Unable to contribute at this time? We totally get it - it's been an incredibly difficult year. You can still support Bust A Move by sending this campaign to at least five friends and posting it on your social media. Don't forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook!
