Meet CarVi: Versatile, Affordable and Easy to Install Driver’s Assistant

CarVi employs the vision based safety tools to gather data, using a small dashboard camera installed in your car that “talks” to your smart phone. The camera captures video which CarVi analyzes in real time. If it senses potential trouble, it issues audible and visual warnings.

It monitors:

Safe Lane Changes – CarVi adds an extra set of “eyes” to your driving, monitoring your position in the lane and the location of the car ahead.

Front End Collision Danger – CarVi monitors your distance from the driver in front of you. Not only will it warn you if you come too close, but it will also help you practice maintaining a safe distance if you’re prone to tailgating.

Jackrabbit Starts – You may not even notice certain driving habits once you get used to them. CarVi helps you learn to give your car just enough gas to efficiently ease into the flow of traffic.

But CarVi doesn’t stop working when you turn off your engine. The smartphone interface displays your driving data, providing your driving “SKOR” for the day, and showing you the areas where you did well, and where you might need some work. With the data it collects, CarVi gives you suggestions on how to improve your driving skills.

Why did we design it

Some time ago, 3 close friends of mine died in a car accident. I will never forget their funeral. I still see in my mind their young children and felt sad and empty inside. I was looking at them, and couldn’t stop thinking about my own family. On that day I decided to commit all my time and effort to making our roads safer to drive on. I want to protect my family and yours from the pain of losing loved ones. And  I want to help every parent to sleep better, knowing that their child has help during the most dangerous time as a new driver.

The Team of Experts You Can Trust

CarVi, a Silicon Valley technology company, was started by trailblazing driver assist engineers whose goal was to make top-of-the-line driving safety features available to everyone. CarVi’s team members have more than 20 years of experience in design and development of value-added technology products for the automobile industry.

Kevin Eunsu Lee is a developer of a computer vision-based technology to detect lanes and cars on the road. He worked with these products from concept through implementation and brought them to the market by 2006. It was the first LDWS safety product to market in Korea, and perhaps the world.He continued his product development, creating the Forward Collision Warning System, driving state monitoring and other image conversion and transformation technologies. He has developed new and various LCD display versions of LDWS, FCWS and car driver recorders. Kevin is currently working on Big Data solutions, utilizing OBD-II data, 3G/4G mobile networks and Smartphone applications.

Automobile industry expert, Dr. Nack Y. Cho, has been involved in international business for more than 30 years. He helped Hyundai Electroncs Industries to build its new satellite business unit. Later on, Dr. Cho organized the Globalstar business, teaming up with Space Systems Loral, Alenia Spazio and international telecommunication companies for technology transfer, sub-contracts for delivery of space qualified hardware. In 2002, he worked with Cisco Systems to guide its merger with Exio. Dr. Cho has founded new telecommunications and electronics start-ups in Seoul, Korea, Tokyo, Japan, and Silicon Valley, U.S.
