About us and Cat Skin
Cat Skin is a coming of age feature film created by a group of passionate filmmakers based in Brighton and London. Our aim is to make a film that takes an honest look at the
teenage life of a gay girl. It's been described as a very moving and
delicate story with wonderful characters.
Cat Skin prides itself on two very strong female leads and doesn't tip toe around it's themes of exploring sexuality. It's a fresh and honest look at modern romance.
We need all the
support we can get to make this passion project come to life. Essentially we need you.

How you can help us make Cat Skin
Making
films is an expensive undertaking. Our funding goal is £5,500. We have
planned for a 20 day shoot which we will split up into 5 blocks to
help spread the cost. Your pledge will cover everything from
location hire, costumes, props, kit rental transportation and feeding our lovely cast and crew. We have also included a contingency
budget within our overall goal accounting for
any unforeseen additional costs.
Besides
a huge thank you from everyone involved and knowing you played a part
in getting a film project off the ground, there are also some great perks in exchange for your contribution ranging from as little as £5. Get a

Synopsis
Cat Skin follows the intimate tale of Cat and April and their journey of finding each other. Cat is a photography student at her local college. She is an intelligent yet introverted individual remaining on the fringe of the usual social college life. April, on the other hand, is a beautiful and popular music student at the same college. Cat and April soon fall into each others lives and develop a close friendship which will be tested to its utmost limit.
Cat Skin was originally produced as a short film back in 2009. ![]()
Director
Daniel Grasskamp and Cinematographer Joni Juutilainen made the short
within their first year after graduating from film school. They are very
proud of the short film but
there’s always been a longing to
return to Cat and April's story. There is a large character arch that
the short simply couldn't encompass. This feature length fully explores
the characters and their untold story which has been quietly simmering
over the years and is now ready to be captured.
What we're shooting on?
We have purchased the brand new Blackmagic Production Camera 4K specifically for this project along with many accessories. This has significantly reduced our hiring costs and lowered our budget by 50%.
