A
man's journey home takes a nightmarish turn, but nothing is more terrifying
than what waits for him behind his own front door.
Ziven’s dull and repetitive walk to his apartment suddenly changes into an escape from a dangerous and nightmarish labyrinth. As he works his way through the barbaric traps and numerous corridors, he begins to realise that he is not alone in there... and they’re watching, waiting for him in the darkness.
CHAIN creates its own unique, hostile atmosphere with no dialogue and no lengthy exposition. This is a multi-faceted film with opportunities for the audience to ponder their own theories and draw their own conclusions from the mystery. You will pick up on new clues, details and ideas each time you watch it.
The film works with themes of depression, drug dependency, and good old fashioned monster horror.

I think the horror genre is the most versatile genre
to experiment with, and it is through this experimentation that we create new
trends in cinema (J-Horror, Found footage and Mumblegore).
We’re regularly seeing how a short film can help
promote and develop upcoming directors with a fresh take on the genre. This is apparent when we look at directors such as Sam Rami (Evil Dead), James Wan (Saw)
and more recently; Jennifer Kent (The Babadook). It is this path that we want
to take, with CHAIN being the first step.
Our aim with CHAIN is to show our skills in creative
design and our ability to write atmospheric horror. We then plan to move onto
the upcoming feature film, TREATMENT. We will also take CHAIN to as many
festivals as we can and make a huge noise that all of our fans can hear!

Our
aim is to create a film with a very professional and high end final result. We
have worked hard to ensure we can make the film for the absolute minimum
budget. With your help, we can;
·
Give
a huge boost to our Art Department so we can create all the corridors, the
traps and of course… The Monsters.
·
Feed
the crew (you wouldn't like them when they're hungry).
·
Insurance
and location fees, the red tape that no one enjoys doing.
·
Sound
design and music - We really want to create something eerie, unsettling and
original for both the sound and music in the film. This will require some
studio post production to get the job done properly.
·
Professional
post production will be required to polish up the edit with colour correction
and VFX’s.
·
Entries
into prestigious festivals; Sundance, Fanatastic Fest, New York City Horror
Film Festival, Raindance, Edinburgh, Berlin, Frightfest, Encounters, Eerie,
Gorefest, Celluloid Screams and Dark Carnival.
·
We’ve
already secured nearly half of the budget but we really need your help to bring
the film to life. I hope our project interests you and we appreciate any help
and support you can give us.
We know that this is no small amount
to ask for and that we are literally one of thousands of campaigns out
there at the moment. But we are eager to present a different kind of horror to
an enthusiastic fan base and make you proud of what you’ve invested in. You are
the one investing, you are our boss, and we want to impress you.
We understand that money is tight
for everyone but there are many other ways that you can help out with the film
for free! A Facebook like and share, and posts on Twitter and Reddit are also a big
help.
We’ve recently been entered into the
International Movie Trailer Festival so please vote for us at the link
below.
