Dear
Friends,
This
is the most exciting letter I’ve ever written! To help you understand why, we
have to travel back in time a bit.
God loves us
all
At
the age of 12, I felt God calling me to preach the gospel, but I was
apprehensive. I didn’t feel accepted by my church because I was gay.
Unfortunately, my story isn’t unique. Truth is, many people don’t feel welcome
in today’s churches for any number of different reasons.
But
I believe that with your help we can launch Church of Open Doors, and together, create a place where ALL people
can experience God. Regardless of your background, race, gender, or sexuality
YOU are invited!
Why Austin?
According
to Forbes, Austin, Texas is the second-fastest growing city in the nation
with a current population of 1.8 million. But despite the city’s wonderful,
vibrant personality, I have personally encountered many individuals who are
hurting and looking for meaning, community and authenticity. Church of Open Doors will fill this
void with hope and direction, and it will point the way to the one who brings
true meaning to our lives: Jesus.
How can you
help?
We
need donations, big or small, to raise $7,000. These funds will help us get
Church of Open Doors open and operating.
Below is an itemized breakout of our specific needs:
Expenses
·
Incorporation/501(c)3 status $3,500
·
Venue Rental $500
·
Flyers, Printing, Marketing $500
·
Coffee/Snacks $150
·
Website $1,500
Again,
please consider making a donation today. Help open the doors to a place where friends
gather together in love, acceptance and worship.
In
God,
Jordan
