Help collect 5200$ for CITY PRIMEVAL: NEW YORK, BERLIN, PRAGUE! This book is a personal journey through time in each city, told by 69 contemporary writers, musicians, designers, filmmakers, photographers, painters and performers from within the New York, Berlin and Prague underground scenes from the late 1960s to the present; from New York Post-Punk and No Wave, to the fall of the Berlin Wall and Reunification, to the Velvet Revolution and the Prague Renaissance. The stories and photographs were meticulously curated by photographer Robert Carrithers and Louis Armand, writer and critical theorist.
With the book release events, the City Primeval team strives to bring the stories visually into life in all the cities of their creation. In cooperation with culturally significant galleries and institutions, we are preparing book releases in New York, Berlin and Prague by the end of 2017.
In 2018, City Primeval will return to the three cities as a living exhibition as well. Contributing artists (along with other connected artists) will be featured in exhibitions taking place in all of the three cities. This way, we can further expose and promote the work of artists who contributed their work to create this unique constellation of art and culture.
Your contribution will support the production of these one-of-a-kind launch events and exhibitions as well as the promotion of the book itself. Photographer-curator Robert Carrithers took a year's sabbatical leave to realize this ambitious book project, which includes the work of 69 participating artists.
