The Show

"A unique story teller and comedian, described as being the “The Ranulph Fiennes of British Climbing" - by the Today Program - Andy Kirkpatrick has climbed in some of the most inhospitable places on earth, from Greenland to Alaska, Patagonia to Antarctica. In this new tour we begin where his last finished, arriving in Antarctica with the task of guiding a group of BASE jumpers to the top of one of the'hardest mountains in the world’.

Cold Mountain takes you on an adventure that is at the very boundary of the possible; physically, mentally and emotionally - a climb that laid bare the realities of modern adrenaline sports, as well as friendship.

Andy also reflects back on a lifetime spent climbing on many such cold mountains - the climbers, the climbs and the lessons he learnt there.

Cold Mountain, like all of Andy's shows, is hard to pin down; a mix of comedy, pathos and brutal honesty about a life on the edge in every sense.

Show Length: 90 - 100 minutes

Bringing it to Central London

This new 'Cold Mountain' tour is hitting over 30 theatres through out the UK and Ireland, but non in central London.  The reason for this is that there are no venues that book this kind of event, and the only venues for hire would bankrupt me.  I could do a talk at the Castle climbing wall perhaps, but - no offence to the Castle - that's not a night out, and no good if you live in South London.

And yet every tour people ask and ask for a central London gig that they can easily get too, and get home from.
Book it and they will come is not a good idea, as in the past it's been more like 'book it, and there's a tube strike!', but in these days of social media and crowdfunding maybe this is the answer.

Sell enough tickets and I'll do it!

So here's the deal, if I can sell enough tickets to cover all the costs - and yes they are the costs! - I'll do the show in London.  So buy a ticket, in fact get all your mates to buy one, and if we don't hit the target then the event won't happen.  Simple.

NOTE: If I we don't reach the target the event will not go ahead, and non of the ticket sales will go through (so you won't have to pay).

Where and when?

The show will be held at the Royal Institution which is close to tubes and train services and has a super cool lecture theatre, perhaps one of the most famous 'speaking' spaces in the UK, having been in use for over 200 years, and used for the BBC Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, founded by Michael Faraday.

The event - if you buy tickets! - will happen on the on 23rd of February starting at 7:00pm, and ending around 9:30pm, so people can get home again.

TICKETS AND PRICES

The ticket price is £15, which I think is fair as I talk my socks of for two hours (don't worry, we'll have a break in the middle so you can have a wee), and I guarantee you more laughs than you'd get at an Adam Sandler film round the corner in Leicester Square, plus some scares and interesting stories.  The high target price reflects the price of the venue, travel, accommodation, two hookers and a stretch limo - the usual.  If we can fill the place (400 seats) then I'll even make some money, and be able to buy shoes for my poor children (they'll be selling E-cigerattes in the street when you arrive).
