What is Column: Vol. 1?

Column Vol. 1 is an action packed, full color, 6.5x10.25in (standard western comic size), 90+ page, manga-esque graphic novel. Fun characters, cute artwork and explosions.

We are looking to raise enough money for a limited print run of Column: Vol. 1 before it is released via a different publisher in 2019. We also would like to offer the chance to pick up a few exclusive variants of our character propaganda posters.

Column: Vol. 1 Overview

Column's story follows the crew of the Helcat, a US Army M1A2 Abrams main battle tank, in their adventure across the world fighting the Meta-National Transitory Pact. It is a lighthearted combat series with plenty of comedy and loads of action! As you may have guessed, it's World War 3, but with a bit of a twist. And no, it's not zombies...

The Metas have developed a top secret technology only known as "The Disruptor". It's unknown how this weapon works, but it's effects are felt across the globe. Advanced GPS, satellite guided weapons, long range radar and radios --- all rendered useless, the Disruptor interfering with all forms of over-the-air signals. 

Without the massive advantage of automated weapons like UAVs and long range technologies like GPS-guided cruise missiles, the US and her allies were at an extreme disadvantage once war broke out. In 2026, the Metas made landfall in North America and the war seemed to be going their direction for 3 years. But the tide is turning...

This is where our story picks up. It's 2029 and the Allies are on the counter-attack. The men and women of the Army's 10th Special Missions Unit have been assigned the harrowing task of tracking down the Disruptor Device on land and eliminating it at all costs.

Jack and Hatch are two civilian volunteers of the Civil Defense Corps. The war has come to them. Will they survive their unexpected combat tour? How will they fare fighting alongside the Ladies of the 2nd Platoon of the 10th SMU? Guess you'll have to read to find out!

Risks & Challenges

This funding is only for the printing of the exclusive Column: Vol. 1 variant and the exclusive posters. The rest of the project is already created and paid for.

This is a LOW RISK crowdfunding campaign. Unlike other campaigns, we have removed all obstacles to you getting what you ordered and quickly. Kraken Print will be handling both the printing and fulfillment, meaning you won't have to rely on an indie creator in their living room trying to wrap and ship a large volume of orders, having never done it before.
