Short Summary
Concession is a character study on an obsessive movie theater manager who must battle with his need for constant control when faced with a new employee whose lack of rules unexpectedly intrigues him.
In our efforts to control and micro manage the world around us, we build walls. Walls that can make us feel safe, but prevent us from reaching out to others. Concession explores these themes of control and power.
What We Need & What You Get
As student filmmakers, funding our projects is often the most difficult part. This is where you come in. With your help we can make Concession a reality. Your contribution will give us access to the equipment and supplies we need to put this film together.
Location: We will be filming in a small movie theater in Greenfield, Massachusetts, and in a bar in Boston.
Housing: Housing the crew and actors comfortably is of the highest priority.
Transportation: Filming over the summer, and outside of Boston, requires us to be able to transport our talented crew and equipment to set.
Equipment: As students at Emerson College we are given some resources. However, in order to effectively make Concession what it is in our minds, we are going to have to rent some additional equipment.
Crafty: Making sure everyone has a great experience making the film is as important as the film itself. That good experience starts with a well fed and hydrated crew.
PD: Making the world of Concession come alive starts with comprehensive production design.
Publicity: Upon finishing Concession, we want to get it out into the world. Publicity funds will go towards film festival entries and screening costs.
Perks: We want to be able to provide all the promised perks to everyone by the promised delivery date.
Contingency: When learning to make films, the first thing you learn is that something always goes wrong. We want to be prepared for anything that could be thrown our way.
