We're going to AACTFest 2013!
Confetti Stage was chosen to be 1 of 12 community theatre companies around the U.S. to present works at AACTFest 2013 in Carmel, IN. AACT is the Association of Community Theatre, and AACTFest is their bi-annual national competition.
This is a prestigious honor, and Confetti Stage is excited to be representing community theatre from the Capital District, New York state, as well as Region II, which also includes DC, DE, MD, NJ, and PA!
Why we need your help
The logistics of sending three cast members and four crew members, as well as our set, to Indiana in mid-June involves a lot of planning and considerable cost.
Our fundraising goal includes the following costs:
- Festival registration fees for our cast and crew
- Transportation and gas (we need to drive our set - and ourselves - out to Indiana!)
- Hotel lodging for 1 week for our cast and crew
- Fees for use of fundraising site (please remember that ~6% of your donation will go to the site and credit card companies, ~9% if we don't reach our goal)

About The Lesson
Written in 1951, The Lesson illustrates absurd playwright Eugene Ionesco’s comic genius, where insanity and farce collide as a professor becomes increasingly frustrated with his hapless student, and the student with her mad teacher. This potent "comic drama" has the power to frighten and delight as only Absurdist plays can.
The Lesson, although one of Ionesco's most popular works, is rarely produced by community theatres in the U.S. This production has proven to be understandable and accessible to both enthusiasts of and those unfamiliar with Absurdist Theatre. Confetti Stage prides itself on challenging its artists and audiences in this way.
The Lesson features:
- Lucy Breyer as The Maid
- Vivian Hwang as The Pupil
- Neilson R Jones as The Professor
Our awesome crew members are Katelyn Ouellette, David DiPaola, Stephen Henel, and Linda Shirey (Director).
