Working towards a dream -
Cora’s was born in the kitchen of my house with the family and with friends surrounding it. We realized that food is the center of everything, we all need food to live. It is even better when we can enjoy it and it delightfully changes our mood. Our dream to share our kitchen with the public became a reality in 2019 when a small location became available, and we jumped on the idea of opening a small café and bakery. Unfortunately, Cora’s Bakery closed in 2020 due to Covid-19. Still, we decided to look again for another location, and while searching, we saw the charm of downtown Midland, Texas. So we decided that our spot should be there, after a couple of months we found the one. You will here soon find our location at 305 W. Ohio, where all types of buildings and businesses surround us. Even though we are about to finish it, we still need a bit more to open it up.
We are Edgar and Ana, owners of Cora's, and we believe food brings people together. In our travels and most important in everyday life of a person the most crucial time of a day is when we get to eat because food makes our souls happy. We want you to make Cora's your second home and the place where you can share a wonderful meal with friends and family.
What we need and the perks that you get
Even though we are about to be finished with Cora's Bistro, we need to complete some details inside the building. To be able to keep running the restaurant and have the ability to cope with the arising issues of a new restaurant, we are asking for $25,000. These funds will go towards finishing the final details and etc.
Not only will you contribute to the welfare of the restaurant and give us more freedom to create delicious food for you all, but it will also give us a chance to provide for you many perks as donors. The perks you will receive for your gracious contribution depends on the level and amount that you all wish to give.
Impact
We want to thank you all for the continuous support during these hard and uncertain times. For all those times you gave us your precious time and resources at the Farmers market and ordering Dinner and pastries from us.
We have torn, built, and changed the building to host this eatery to fit our vision. We believe our impact will be successful because we are thinking of creating art that you will love and enjoy in the form of food.
Risks & Challenges
The biggest challenge in opening a restaurant during this time is the uncertainty during Covid-19, but as a community we can all overcome this situation. Also, what makes it harder for a new starter is to have the exposure since we are new; not many people know us. These two risks may lie on us, but the food we provide is not cooked or prepared like us in other restaurants. We have been around for at least a year and are working the Farmer's Market to obtain the exposure we need, and it is working.
Helping us
We understand if you are not able to contribute to our cause, but if you can help us spread the word, we will greatly appreciate it. We hope you can visit us to enjoy some delicious homemade food and pastries once we open.
