Judy Haim, Corey's mother has posted the following message to all of her son's fans and those who support this effort:
I want to thank my son's fans-- the best fans a star could ever have; for their unrelenting efforts to help Corey Haim get a star on the Walk of Fame.
However this award should come from a position of honor and not charity. After some careful reflection and experiencing disappointment from the indifference of the Hollywood industry, I wish to "get off this train" in soliciting Hollywood for a star. Corey earned his place among Hollywood and such an award should come willingly from the industry he belonged to.
Should any fans wish to contribute toward the effort in the event the Indiegogo fails to reach its goal, I have set up a PO Box that they may contribute to. The idea of PO Box may put some people off, but I assure any contributors all funds will be strictly accounted for and used explicitly for Corey's star.
My sincerest thanks to 6 Degrees of Hell for adding legitimacy to the cause and for their continuing efforts for industry recognition.
Corey was my son, and soliciting his memory goes against everything in me as a mother and human being and I will not force him upon the Hollywood industry for the recognition he earned. I want him to rest in peace.

Should this Indiegogo Campaign fail to reach the goal, ALL monies are returned. However, should anyone still wish to contribute, Judy set up a PO Box for checks. While the checks need to be made out to her, the MEMO on the check should read: Corey Haim Star. NO check will be cashed until the goal is met.
