About the Campaign
Sarah Wu is a passionate educational curator, facilitator and mentor dedicated to adult learners of all backgrounds. A representative for Mother Nature as a writer and teacher of Deep Ecology, Therapeutic Ecology and Whole Systems Design shared through the lens of Herbalism and Permaculture. Sarah Wu has 23 years studying and practicing the science, art and craft of Regenerative Herbal Medicine. Her foundation is in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Wise Woman Traditions, actively practicing clinical herbalism in the Neo-Tropics for 13 years. With 30 and counting, 75+hour Permaculture Design Courses (PDC) in her portfolio, which encompasses earth sciences, regenerative strategies for human settlement design, community development and alternative social structuring. She can teach all aspects of herbal medicine from Materia Medica, ethnobotany, medicine making, formulation and anatomy/physiology. Sarah teaches workshops to young women, 10 - 16 years old about their physical and spiritual bodies in correspondence with lunar and planetary rhythms. She is well versed, teaching archetypal symbolism and storytelling for personal reflection via Tarot and Evolutionary Astrology.
A producer at heart, Sarah loves curating courses, workshops and events tailored to community, deep ecology, regenerative design and holistic health that highlight diverse and dynamic facilitators. Sarah is the friendly Village Witch, co-founder and producer of Envision Festival, a 10,000 person arts and culture event in Costa Rica (2011-present), where she curates the educational offerings spanning six stages and 300 hours. An international facilitator, Sarah has brought her teachings to the United States, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Italy, Portugal, France and Germany.
Sarah lives off-the-grid half the year at her 2500 square meter homestead in the low mountains of Costa Rica, and the other half of the year in the coastal mountains of the Marche region of Italy with her husband where they host events and are developing a 1 hectare permaculture farm.
Exploring ecosystems, human nature and health through the lens of evolutionary anarchy to bring us back to the land and into community. Her talks embrace archetypes, storytelling and transmissions from nature that challenge new age as well as conventional systems.
This campaign will allow me to raise the funds to produce a series of around 111 hours of online content, that will be accessible to those who can not travel, affordable to most economic demographics and most of all impactful to other people who want to bring herbalism, earth spirituality and holistic lifestyle and land practices into their day to day.
Contributions will help me to:
- Hire a Team Member who has the knowledge and skill base to help me accomplish what I can not in terms of tech, sales and marketing.
- Hire a Virtual Assistant who can help me with student questions and ongoing maintenance of the site and courses.
- Hire a video team and set so I can film the action bases classes.
- Give me space to work and create all these unique courses.

The Impact
I have taught thousands of students the Science, Art and Craft of Herbal Medicine, Permaculture Philosophy and Earth Spirituality since 2010. The majority of my students have come to me from all over the world for in person trainings, ranging from 3 - 30 days. I understand that this is widely inaccessible to countless people who are unable to travel for geo-political reasons, economic constraints, work and family responsibilities. These online, at your own pace courses will be economically viable, and without time limitations for those who want to study with me to have this opportunity.
Your contribution will give me a foundation of support to develop these courses. As a reward based Crowdfund, each of the initial courses will be offered at a discount, so your donation will turn into an educational experience for yourself or someone you may want to gift it to.
Risks & Challenges
As with any investment there is a risk. No matter what I will complete this project, the greatest limitation is time in relationship to funding. Without this crowd fund, many of my objectives will be slowed down, specifically the film crew for filming the action based classes (medicine making) as well as the legal and financial component to ensure I am operating in a way that upholds specific capitalist value systems in order for me to grow my business.
I have an entrepreneurial spirit and am not afraid to take risks that I know are within my scope of practice and experience that will help me to grow as a human, teacher, facilitator and producer.
I am confident in myself to be able to accomplish this project, and I am sure contributors will be happy and satisfied with the outcome.
