As smartphones and tablets have taken over the world, we've seen a lot of charging stations. But we had a hunch that something was missing.

So we talked with people who were looking for a better way to make their tech live harmoniously in the living spaces they'd worked so hard to create.

1. Why is Griffin using Indiegogo?
   We think crowdfunding is the shortest, straightest line between your need for a well-thought-out, design-sensitive charging hub, and our idea for Cove.
   

2. Will this charge any USB device?
   Yes, Cove will charge any device that charges via normal USB, from your iPhone to your GoPro. 5 USB ports deliver up to 12 watts each to attached devices (60 W total output).

3. What’s Cove made of?
   The Cove enclosure will be made of high-impact, scratch-resistant polycarbonate for durability. Cove can be wiped down with mild soap and water. Other materials and finishes are still being explored.

4. What’s the warranty??
   We’re offering a 2-year warranty on Cove, beginning from the time it ships.

5. When will it ship??
   We hope to begin shipping units in late 2015, and will be shipping Indiegogo orders first!

6. What are the dimensions and weight of Cove??
   Our current prototype is: 16.8” wide X 12.8” deep X 7” tall. Follow our campaign to receive updates as we make our way through the product’s development.

7. Will Cove be available in retail stores??
   No, Cove will not be available in retail stores.

8. Is the power supply built into the product or does it have a hideous power brick??
   The UL-certified power supply is built-in, out of sight.

9. Does Cove support USB 3.0??
   Yes, Cove will charge USB 3.0 devices.

10. Can Cove be used outside the United States??
    Yes, we plan to offer international versions of Cove with power cords for different geographic regions.

11. How long is the power cord?
    4’ (1.2 meter) power cord included.

13. What is the input rating for Cove?

14. What colors are available??
    Based on our research, we gave our prototype a light woodgrain finish, but we want to hear from you! Tell us if we should change the color, offer more options, etc.

15. Will Cove accommodate my device in a Griffin Technology case? Will it work with other manufacturers' cases??
    Yes, Cove can accommodate devices in cases as large as an iPad in a Griffin Survivor, which is pretty heavy-duty.

16. Will Cove charge my laptop??
    Cove doesn’t currently support laptop charging, but you are able to store your laptop on the top!

17. Can I use my personal USB cables with Cove?
    Yes! Cove works with all standard USB cables.

18. Does Cove support charging via Qualcomm Quick Charge?
    No, Cove does not support Qualcomm Quick Charge.
    

19. Is Cove's wood finish real wood?
    Due to demand, we will be producing Cove in three color options that mimic the look of Birch, Walnut, and Ebony. This material allows Cove to be wiped clean while looking great in your home.
