In August, a bunch of cowgirls will be taking on the Tough Mudder Challenge to raise money for a girls secondary school in Palestine! This seriously hard core 12 mile obstacle race will challenge us to our limits and here’s why we are doing it…
Hebron International Resource Network (HIRN) have built a secondary school in Zif, South East Hebron for girls who wouldn’t otherwise be able to continue their education beyond primary level. As well as boy’s education being prioritised, the area in which the school is built is subject to regular intimidation, violence and confiscation of property by illegal Israeli settlers and the Israeli Military (IDF).
So far 8 new classrooms have been built for the 104 girls enrolled but 2 more are needed to meet the area’s demand. Without this school, girls would stop their education or may have to travel to a school in another city. With freedom of movement restricted by checkpoints, the girls’ safety is further compromised by intimidation and abuse because they are Palestinian.
Your donation will contribute towards HIRN building two more caravans that will become classrooms.
HIRN believes education is a human right. HIRN supports some of the most vulnerable Palestinian communities living under Israeli occupation in the Hebron area. HIRN relies on donations to continue their essential work. Find out more here:

The obstacle course will involve running for 12 miles, dodging dangling electric cables, clambering up muddy slippery inclines, scrambling up the banks of a crater filled with treacherous shoe-stealing, unforgiving mud, holding our own body weight on a monkey bar course above a pool of muddy water, scaling vertical walls using tiny pegs, plunging into a skip full of ice, and more! If you think we deserve some support, donate now!
By donating you will be showing solidarity for Palestinian people living under Israeli occupation and support for the human rights of girls to an education.
