Meet CREATE Gallery & Cocktail Lounge:
It’s been six years since our first CREATE event. What started as a simple idea. An idea rooted in collaboration, community and celebration. A celebration of art, food, music and drink on a level playing field. A showcase of Boston’s brightest artists, chefs, bartenders and musicians.
Today we evolve from event to brick & mortar. CREATE Gallery & Cocktail Lounge is opening this fall in Union Sq, Somerville at Bow Market.
Our mission statement has always been the same. Develop a larger platform for artists. Create a catalyst to show how much talent we have here. Talents that struggle to find notoriety. Talents worthy of our attention.
For six years we’ve given these artists an opportunity for 3-4 hours, one day each year. This fall we’ll be able to give them residencies in our space year round. This is a major accomplishment for our brand but we need your help. We need your support.
About CREATE Gallery & Cocktail:
Our space will be (trying to find the right word for small) charming. Our calendar will be filled with 45-60 day residencies for our artists. We’ll program themes and collaborations. We’ll make all the art available for sale. Originals & prints. We’ll highlight our artists through our social media, providing you with insight into who they are, what they do and when to find them at the gallery.
And we’ll serve up cocktails. All draft cocktails. Our cocktails will be unique collaborations with the best bartenders in Boston and friends from around the country. And of course, we’ll always have an offering from Tavern Road in the memory of Ryan McGrale. We know you miss the Down n’ Brown and Bees Knees.
We’ll provide the music and host the party every night. Stop by one of the many food kiosks on the ground floor of Bow Market and bring up snacks. We can fit about 20 people so plan on bringing friends and making a few more before you leave.
I’ve worked in kitchens my whole life. Ingredients and products were my passion. We formed culinary teams and built family in our restaurants. CREATE Gallery & Cocktail will follow this blueprint bringing artists together to develop a community of incredible talent and inspiration.
