Who I Am
I’m Andrew Winegarner and this is my first documentary film.
I’ve been an art teacher since 2007 and recently received my Ph.D. in mythology and psychology.
CREATIVITY is currently in post-production and scheduled to be release during film festival season 2022–2023.

Education
I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2004 with a BA in Art. In 2011, I received my first MA in Education from Chapman University, followed in 2017 by my second MA in Mythological Studies (with emphasis in Depth Psychology) from Pacifica Graduate Institute. In April 2021, I received my Ph.D. in Mythological Studies (with emphasis in Depth Psychology) from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
Challenges
Making a feature-length film is very difficult, especially on a low budget. But I’ve studied film in college and have been making indie films with my brother since high school in the mid-to-late-1990s.
What I’ve Completed Already
To explore creativity, I’ve interviewed many different creatives, from artists, musicians, photographers, and filmmakers, to chefs, comedians, and entrepreneurs. I’ve also interviewed many different psychologists and psychology professors, as well as a neurologist and an astrophysicist.
I have most of the equipment that I need and I’m doing 100% of the work myself on my off-hours with a shoestring budget.

The Budget
Here’s the breakdown of the $11,000 budget I am seeking to raise:
$5,000 – Media Licensing, music licensing (examples: displaying a photo by a famous photographer will cost $2,000 each; licensing C-SPAN videos cost $2,000 floor + $66.67 per second after that)
$4,000 – Post-production, Audio mastering, color correction, titles and animation
$2,000 – legal services
The Impact
I’m hoping to inspire people from all walks of life to get creative, especially with the challenges that we face in the future; from the climate crisis to overpopulation and becoming an interstellar species, as Carl Sagan envisioned.
