Hello!
My name is Jonas Govaerts and I’m a television, music video and short film director. You may also know me from playing the guitar in the band The Hickey Underworld. This summer I will shoot my first feature film Cub. It’s a horror movie about Sam, a twelve-year-old imaginative boy who goes to camp in the woods with his pack of cub scouts. Together with the other cubs and the leaders of the pack Sam finds himself in a dark wood where a psychopathic poacher and his masked helper live. What the cubs don’t know is that the poacher has laid out ingenious, lethal traps all over the forest. We would like to finance these booby-traps through crowdfunding. The Team
The Belgian backwoods horror movie Cub is directed by Golden Méliès winner Jonas Govaerts. With his award-winning shorts Of Cats & Women, Abused and Forever, as well as the Flemish cult television series Super8 and MONSTER! Govaerts has already made his mark as a dependable genre director.
For Cub, Govaerts has gathered a talented, experienced team:
Director Of Photography Nicolas Karakatsanis (the Oscar-nominated Bullhead, the US remake of Loft, and the cult horror movies Left Bank and Small Gods), co-writer Roel Mondelaers (writer/ director of popular television series De Vijfhoek and Plan B), producer Peter De Maegd (The Spiral, Left Bank, Small Gods) and, last but certainly not least, executive producer and legendary horror author Richard Christian Matheson (Mobius, Abused, Tales From The Crypt, The A-Team, Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories).

With this campaign, we invite you to team up and help us to bring this story to the big screen. It's the goal of director Jonas Govaerts and designer Lieven Slabbinck to make these traps as realistic as possible. The total budget to design, test and produce the deadly, ingenious traps for Cub amounts to €34.567. So, Buy a Trap, Kill a Cub!
