*Quick Note*
*Talented director/producer, John Burns, of Glasgow, Scotland is at the helm and there's tremendous confidence with his talent and experience that he'll make this film worth watching. January 2015 is when we begin to make the film a reality and we are getting closer to our goals every day, with various sources for funding, but one such source, Indiegogo, could use a little help with just one week left in the campaign. Please don't let the margin between what we have so far and the intended goal offset you from what you see here. We are getting there. The goal is now just $15,000.
Story:
“Cy’s Crawlspace” is the seriocomic story of Cy Quinn. His record
store is in the final hour of closing and with little money and creditors
threatening to take everything, he’s forced to use his imagination to
salvage enough for himself and daughter just to get through the
next few days. Can Cy pull it off? More importantly, where does Cy fit in a
post digital world where brick and mortar stores are increasingly becoming
a minority?
A supple tale with simple props, this is the story of the other side to working-class entrepreneurship, and the hopes and consequences that go with it. There are no simplistic resolutions and no vaudevillian numbers where friends and neighbors scrape enough money to save the store, it’s time to move on and Cy has some sacrifices to make.
The film will star acclaimed Irish actor, Owen Roe and noted drummer from the acclaimed post-punk band, Gang of Four, Hugo Burnham. The storyboards, shot list and a talented crew waiting in the wings. We just need help with funding and we know we can make this worthy indie film.
Sincerely,
Michael O'Toole,
